Do we still hate Christi Malthouse now her dad no longer coaches Collingwood? :p

We hated her?

Well, I certainly never did :p Nothing wrong with Christi....

Ahem.

Roos forsure. The more I think about the 2, the more I want Roos.
You want a guy that has made it known he dislikes Carton? Roo's wont coach next year, if he does, he has no credibility.

For my mind, if MM decides not to coach us, i hope we go after Williams and hope we get a couple of the good young giants to follow him.

Shocking as a boundary rider on Ten.

Don't know about the wisdom of Christi wearing high heels in her former job. They promptly sunk into the turf to turn them into flats as she walked on the ground. Genius. She's the reason Etihad's surface is ****ed. ;)

Few interesting comments in a post on the Filth's board...
I dont think anyone begrudges Mick ability to go and get another job but surely nobody can argue he is a man of great principle.

Lets look at the facts.

- He had won 1 premiership in 9 or 10 years or whatever it was and we had just been comprehensively done again in a major final and to be fair he probably could have been dealt to then.

- Instead Ed steps in and says mate 2 more years and a gtd job at the end of it and in addition we will get the cash etc to go and get the 2 player types required to win a premiership.

- Mick agrees. Signs a piece of paper to boot apparently

- Nothing more is said and in fact Mick publicly says in 2010 he is a happy camper.

- We win the premiership in 2010 and Mick decides to 'pot' Eddie in the GF speech by saying they are 'his boys' or whatever it is.

- In 2011 he then slowly builds a campaign to have the deal recut and for him to remain as senior coach and it all culminates when we have won a heap of games and he decides on his own that he should go on the TFS. The media go nuts as MM has basically admitted he doesnt want to go.

- After that the media are all over it and along with some ill timed injuries our season is derailed. Maybe he didnt cause it but by god he did nothing to help it.

Thats why Collingwood supporters dont revere him to the extent we otherwise would or could. Because he is a proven meglamaniac who doesnt stand by his word and in fact does everything to create the impression he is this poor soul who is misunderstood. And dont get me started on what he did to Jason Cloke post the '03 GF.

And he just got going all over again last Sunday when after having said all year he wouldnt dance on another coaches grave he comes out 'tap shoes on' and says I want to caoch again. he nailed Ratts at his most vunerable moment and I reckon a few Carlton folk wont be happy about it.....and nor should they be. They should have stuck with Ratts and slotted in Roos in 2014.

Don't expect any Pie supporters to give him a glowing endorsement and that post TG is no surprise.

How quickly they forget how he catapulted them up the ladder and turned ordinary spud players into excellent contributors not to mention their 1st flag in 50 odd years and winning a flag at Collingwood is very hard to do as Sheeds hammered on the head and he is right.

MM hate is going to get us no where and harping on negatives and a glass half empty attitude is fruitless and we now must move on untied regardless who coaches us whether it is Mick or Roos or anyone but a hate campaign filled with negatives to suit ones own agenda/opinion will get us no where.

Our club is bigger than any individual and is open to criticism no matter what decision it makes sadly.

Robert Walls said it best when declaring that this whole saga had the stench of Pagan.

Reactionary board attempt to save face by sacking incumbent and replacing him with a high profile decorated mercenary who promises success but delivers nothing and thereby trashes the Carlton brand worse than if the original coach had stayed.

The ball's in your court Michael Malthouse. Don't stuff it up.
pagan won about ten games with the worst side I have ever seen one season

I don't think it can be denied Mick could get the best out of some players; sometimes even made seemingly very ordinary players go to the next level.

I don't expect many to agree but I just wonder if someone like Mick or perhaps even Roos if that somehow eventuated could make Gibbs go to the gamebreaker level we always hoped for.

Snoop Dogg usually doesn't pull any punches with his post-match reviews of his players.

A Carlton supporter has said similar about Mick's ego after speaking to some of Malthouse's former assistants.

If they choose to go down the road of hiring a big name coach, then they have to expect constructive criticism and more heat after sacking a contracted coach. It beats being a Malthouse fanboy like some others who usually bag the club.

We're only looking at the positives and negatives of appointing a new coach who mightn't be the answer.

What do we do if we miss the finals next year?

We'll be stuck in a rebuild with a 60 year old coach who has cost us at least $3.5 million dollars. That will be the end of Sticks and Swann at Carlton if that happens. Just more debt for the club. I guess Visy can just bail us out again.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. My ultimate dream would be to get MM, win the premiership cup and watch the collingwood filth implode.goota love all us armchair critics. Good part is opinions are for free.

My bad i forgot about 1990 as that is how irrelevant it/Pies are to me!! :p

For the record i am not anyones fanboy but will support our club to the end of the earth no matter what decision we make.

Mick can bring Cam Wood with him after he passed up the chance to draft Callan Ward, Scott Selwood or Harry Taylor. ;)

My favourite Malthouse trade was Mick downgrading pick seven for pick ten (Chris Egan) and Bowman Nixon. Hawks drafted Jordan Lewis with pick seven.

The Eagles drafted LeCras with the pick Mick traded for Chad Morrison.

Jolly for 14 and whatever, Ball for pick 30 and Tarrant for pick 8 and Medhurst are the only trades/recruiting moves he's nailed.

Trading Mal Michael for Molloy was a pearler.

Ratten's trading misses aren't as bad as Malthouse's blunders.
