Buckley is less experienced than Ratts - really don't understand the premise of the question?

It was more based on how we rate Mick's value and nothing to do with Ratts. If we get Mick have we gained a coach that perhaps Collingwood may also rate as superior. Having said this I don't mind Buckley.

Will be interesting to see the changes if he is our coach. Remember him saying half way through the year that Judd should be played on half back or as a permanent forward so we are less reliant on him. Wonder if now, when he is the man with his neck on the line, if he will take Judd out of the engine room.

Malthouse would have wanted to know that all his requests are to be met.
He isn't coming over just for the money one would think and he's certainly not coming over to make a fool of himself.

I'm sure he would be insistent on plenty of license in respect to assistant coaches, involvement in the list, trade involvement etc etc
You'd think that he'll have a lot more control over things than had ever been afforded to Ratten.

Sticks obviously stuffed it up with his end of season review contention. There was never going to be a review. He should have just said Ratten is the Carlton coach until he isn't and left it at that. Privately he might have prepared Ratts but that obviously did not happen. The thing is Ratten probably would have opted to see out the year and not told anybody, such is the class of the man. Nothing worse than telling someone they still have a chance when no matter what he did, he probably didn't.

One thing is for sure, Sticks certainly put an end to the boy's club accusation.

Don't believe for one minute that what the media and what sticks says publically is the truth. It's likely Ratten knew for weeks or months that he was gone and that the club and Malthouse likely had an arangement a long time ago.

Sticks has done what he has had to, to keep the media off Carlton's back and out of their business. The media are like sea gulls. Feed them and they get more ravenous and come in more numbers. Sticks has given them nothing. It's been handled well. It could have been a lot lot worse if they were fed news in advance and kept up to date with everything we have done. They could have been at our front door, Ratten's front door and Malthouse's front door for months but weren't. When things have been released to the media they have been dealt with quickly and it looks like Malthouse will be our coach very soon.

This review thing is likely to be just a thing to get the media off their backs and off the trail on how we are really doing things.
