If we don't get cloke, would lynch be worth a look at? Out of contract and free agent I think from memory?

Don't believe for one minute that what the media and what sticks says publically is the truth. It's likely Ratten knew for weeks or months that he was gone and that the club and Malthouse likely had an arangement a long time ago. .

Mate I hope you are right. You'd wanna hope a lot of thought has gone into this decision..from every angle..I trust it has happened - the consequences of an MM no decision aren't worth contemplating.

Haha...

All about timing now, nothing to do with money...

as long as we have a coach before round 1 next year im happy even if we dont have 1 during the nab cub.

The former Collingwood premiership coach(malthouse) is the hot favourite to take the helm at Visy Park, but Swann revealed on Tuesday that the club had also made contact with Sydney Swans premiership coach Paul Roos, with "one [candidate] more favoured than the other".

Mick: That was one of the first questions I asked, how far along are you with Travis Cloke?...and the answer was as clear as mud

so done deal? :p

This bullshit foreplay like on 7 news tonight is making me sick, just for the sake of saving face and not dancing on Ratts grave. Just announce it, sign Cloke and get on with trading etc. etc. Membership will hit 50K next year the build up to the season will be huge.

Nah, I'd like him there well before round 1.

Thanks for that Doormat, the best thing I took from that interview was when he said he intended to fulfill his business obligations in Sheppardon and Bendigo etc. because the people had the decency to put him there and in the position to get those things done.

Shows me that he follows his moral values and so if he gets the coaching job here, I expect him to follow those standards.
