Filth is an appropriate description. How does the forum allow that scum to name the Port Player that died?
Tragic for the family and a parents worst nightmare.
Was actually named very early in the POR forum. Also in that forum an alleged Carlton supporter posted a smiley face. Mods deleted it and references quickly, hopefully they gave him a permanent ban. former Collingwood player or on not he was still a young man taken too early. Very sad

I'd say unlikely. Reckon we'll want to get it over and done with with as little fuss as possible.
Also, given the news cycle, 10am tomorrow is quite a way off.

I hope you're wrong. Everyone knows about Mick, when it happens isn't a priority. After the Vegas news I think the AFL in general is going to be quite maudlin.

I'm not even saying Silvagni was better. But he was a hell of a lot closer than a mile to Jakovich.
I am prepared to say it.
Silvagni was a 5 time All Australian who was at the top of his game for pretty much all of his 300 games
Jakovich was a 2 time All Australian who was never the same player after doing his knee in 96. Was a great for about 100 of his 276 games.
Jakovich is widely remembered for being the only player who could match Carey for strength, but who can forget the 95 preliminary final where Silvagni towelled him up.
For me it is a no contest when you compare careers.

Hehe I'm already loving the Filth response on their board.

Carlton V Collingwood is gonna be ****ing huge.
Did you like any posts?

Love that some Pies tragics are calling Malthouse a traitor after they basically sacked him for Buckley and didn't hold him to his contract.

How I would have loved to Like some of the posts, if I still had the Like button.

Though I imagine they would be very touchy after today's events and rightly so.

For me its even simpler. One was the fullback of the century and the other didnt even make the team, nor was he even in discussions as one of those who missed out. In fact, the only disasppointment for some people was that it was silvagni named ahead of southby.

He should have been in the discussions, he'd be just about the first player I'd have at CHB. Carey would probably agree.

haha yeah they are hating this. A guy gives 11 years of of service to their club, delivered 4 grand final appearances, 8 finals appearances and a premiership. Not to mention they were a basket case for years before this. Then he get's sacked by their president and board and a year later gets picked up. They aren't afraid to eat him alive despite all he did for them. They could be the first supporters to boo their reining premiership coach next year. All class.

Also found time to kick 200 goals just for shits n giggles.
AFL full back of the century was a decent award too.

Sorry mate... I would have to go with the selected CHB for the AFL team of the century... Mr Football himself.

Ted Whittan trumps Glen Jakovich

No further discussion will be entered into the matter.

Malthouse charade to end: Blues to reveal coach Mick tomorrow
Malthouse today said he was tired of the constant speculation over his future.

‘‘I’m sick to death of it. You just want to walk down the street without being assaulted by it, it’s continuous,’’ he said.

‘‘It’s like a dripping tap at the moment. Hopefully (it will be resolved) in the not-too-distant future.’’

Malthouse said Carlton supporters had been supportive of the move.

‘‘The football people in general … there has been no negativity from any supporter, all saying: ‘All the best, hope everything works out and good luck to you’,’’ he said.

‘‘It’s quite pleasant, it’s constant.’’

From memory the team of the century was announced at the end of 1996 at which time Jakovich had played 3 really good seasons. Some CHB who have Jako covered include the following:
Peter Knights came second in the 76 Brownlow despite missing about 5 games with a broken collar bone and second also in 78.
Paul Roos was a 7 time all australian over a 13 period.

Roos never real played as a stopper on the key forwards - was very loose and a 3rd man in, rebounder type

not knocking him but lets compare like for like

Gee the filth faithful will struggle tomorrow, they have the inferior coach, their capt rubbed out looking down the barrel of straight sets and their Premiership coach rolled out in Navy Blue. I hope our membership dept are ready to capitalize on the announcement. On pure coaching terms what a great day it will be for us first and foremost, the filth faithful squirming is just an added bonus.
