Interestingly he said the contract starts at Nov 1. What is going to happen during trade???

He said he would assist the footy department. The way I read it was a nice way of saying, I have contractual commitments, but I'll be spending every other waking minute on my new role.

To clarify, I was watching the Fox Sports feed. And THEY were having the drop outs and were having to return to their news desk momentarily and then back to the presser when it came back up. Was a little embarrassing.

So by the looks of things, he won't be at the discussions in person when we are making deals.

Don't think this is a big deal tbh, as long as he can provide his input and get the say on who we chase and what we're willing to give up etc.

Just would've liked to have heard him say, well I committed to the book tour before I knew I was going to be coaching an AFL club, so now things have changed. We're paying him 3 mill so I would've thought being able to attend the trade discussions was a bit more of a priority than going on a book tour.

Anyway, he's given a clear indication that he's determined to drive us to success so not much of a big deal.

Nah not really re Robbo anyway. As Jimmy said, he was shutting him down at most turns, that comment was really just the pièce de résistance. Did something similar to Tony Jones, can't recall it exactly though.

Aparently he's basically the devil now to them. Getting accused of everything from being a big liar and traitor who will somehow bring us down. And can we not forget the comparison of this to us acquiring Pagan. If anything Buckley is the new Tony Shaw. If we get Cloke as well they will be squirming big time!
