Anyone but Bailey. I like Roos and Todd Viney, Malthouse would be good too. Like Syrus said Mark Thompson has brought Geelong's damaging game plan to Essendon and they're smashing it. We'd be able to execute something like that even better.

Never under estimate how good a coach can make the team. If Malthouse became available at the end of the year, who cares what he wants, pay it. What he would bring to the club in regards to the structure of the team, development of the younger players, an actual game plan, belief in the playing group and extra members, it will pay off itself.

I don't know how much enthusiasm and energy he'd have for the Melbourne job and all it entails (a lot less resources than West Coast or Collingwood). If he were keen, he'd have to be considered.
This.

Malthouse is a 'big club' coach. He wouldn't go near us IMO. We may be training at better facilities but our budget and FD personell still lag. More chance of getting Clarkson or Bomber Thompson before Malthouse. Roos is an option but the Saints may be sniffing him out comes seasons end.

It isn't just the head coach though, the support staff are critical in this day and age. I would throw a truck load at Nathan Bassett at Norwood to come across as a support or defensive coach regardless of our senior coach. A forward coach who knows what he's doing would be good too.

Is Todd Viney senior coach material? I'm not sure.

Yeah, I love it how people are like 'sack Bailey, Todd Viney is the man for the job.'

Seriously, how could you possibly arrive at such a ridiculous conclusion?

I'm not saying Viney would be the answer, but hasn't he been assistant coach at two very well structured, successful clubs in Hawthorn and Adelaide? Surely that counts for something if you're an assistant trying to land a senior role.

Just sayin'

Would it work though, if Todd was calling the shots and his son Jack one of the stars (hopefully :p) in the midfield? Have a feeling that's a recipe for implosion.

Hearing Cam Schwabb talk about being on track and 2013 being the year we are aiming to lift makes me think there is no chance we will rid Bailey during this season.

I find it unlikely he wont last for this season and next to be honest.
