A brilliant man who changed the way the game is played.

We are very fortunate to have had him for 10 years, his legacy will continue to live on for a very long time.

A great career for Mick, I look forward to hearing/seeing/reading things from him in the media.

He always got the best out of his players, which was a double edged sword because it often meant the team got into the finals but often didn't have the players to win the premiership, which then meant worse draft picks. It's kind of ironic that the team is finally looking complete and he's gone, but winning us a premiership last year was huge. Following the Pies during the last 12 years has been exciting and Mick got us to be a powerful club on the field. Much more enjoyable than having to bottom out for a couple of years then build things up again.

Easily the best coach WCE has ever had, he turned West Coast from some kind of dreadful WAFL amalgamation into a real football club with his passion and discipline. I hope he goes on to coach AFL again, his ammusing press conferences and disdain for the media will be missed

Glad his gone finding it very hard to come up with a toast after that pathetic coaching effort and his stubborn bullshit that we have all seen over the years costing us games

We will never know but if Reid was moved from Hawkins could have been so much different

Soo thanks Mick fir always getting the best out off our players in the early days and getting our respect back I did it that's the best I can do
