I have a joker in the pack -

Alastair Clarkson

There are strong rumours he will step down as Hawks coach at end of the season and take a year off for health reasons..

Why not re-sign Mick for another year and then swoop on Clarko at the end of 2016 when he is refreshed and hopefully reinvigorated?

Clarko has proven he can rebuild a fallen empire and create a dynasty ?

Frankly I don't really care about what happened in the Battle of Britain, ancient history to me.

im going to back mick in, keep him and sign him up to a new contract if he wants to stay... don't go blowing ridiculous cash on him as he is not the panacea we dreamt he might be. Stare him down, what we need is club men who are in it for the long term, not mercenaries here for the cash splash. He is a proven coach and the players are behind him.

spend the saved cash on some better recruiting and development systems, or if the board prefers (and i expect them too) spend the cash on a new hovercraft, some bigger muscles for Mr Carlton (...and some fake cans for Mrs Carlton). The board might consider throwing in a subscription to beyond blue for all non-renewed club memberships

Yes but he should start first
So your saying it's ok for the players to decide when & if they want to provide effort ?

I am neither for or against MM, I wish I did have a firm opinion but for me whether you like the coach or not you should respect the jumper you pull on each week & have a crack.

Mate no doubt that it's on the players also. But the fact is the club has gotten worse every year with Malthouse and our senior players have all gone backwards every year with malthouse. So I want a clean out starting with him. And I want it today

Yep agree with have gone backwards under MM, but do we have to go backwards to go forwards ?

I personally hate the fact I have no clear stand with MM or anything to do with this club....what eats me the most is being over 40 I want to post "do it for the jumper" but that era has passed, we now have an American Football influenced league where it's all about the individual & what he can get payed :straining:

He should have not gone down at 3/4 time and told all staff not to go down. Then after the game when the press ask him about it he says "**** those shit sippers, if they dont want to listen then **** em"

Good teams don't need to go backwards that bad to go forward. Obviously there is something more wrong than just "talent"

Not sure I agree with that, no club can spend every season at the top, for us its the people in the power positions at the club, over the years our power people haven't learnt, for me the jury is still out on MLG & Trigg, its early days for these two & I am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt & that includes whether we resign MM or not.

Didn't bother with the headache of trying to find a stream for this match, so this is based on earlier observations, of which there are plenty.

If Malthouse can't get this group of players to perform to an acceptable standard, I highly doubt that there is another candidate out there who could. We have a group of introverts who aren't even individually driven for success, let alone drive each other to succeed.

Then there is the wider coaching issue, where we lack quality at each end of the field.

I could probably do a PhD highlighting why Carlton are not destined for success at the current time.
