He plays his 250th game on the weekend for the Sydney Swans and I think he has been underrated by a lot of supporters and commentators. He has been over-shadowed by the great players such as Paul Kelly, Tony Lockett, Daryn Cresswell, Adam Goodes and Barry Hall. I think he ranks alongside of those great players. Hopefully by Round 14, he'll be breaking the Swans games record of 260 games. So what's everybody's opinion of Michael O'Loughlin? I think he rates as one of the best ever players for the Swans and that's saying a lot. I think he is in the top 10 of all time Swans players. Michael O'Loughlin is a champion and has played 250 well deserved games.

I saw Micky O with some of the Swannies boys outside Gosh at Fox.. I thought it was his 250th but wasn't sure. I didn't want to be a total tool so i just wished them good luck for Sunday. It must've been a training session on because as i was walking back to the carpark Roosy was heading off too. I wished him good luck too.

The real celebration should be tentatively scheduled for round 14 when Micky O - injuries allowing - will break John Rantall's 28-year-old record for most games for South Melbourne/Sydney.

Here's hoping he becomes the first Swan to 300 games - we've been waiting long enough.

Mick's a hero and I love to watch him play more than any other Swan. He and I got our first taste of senior Swans footy in the same year - OK I was in the stands cheering rather than playing - so I've enjoyed following him for his whole career.

I think it was the 1997 finals campaign that Magic really starred. We got knocked out in the end by Adelaide (or some other bastards). I remember it was raining and muddy and he was injured but still trying to drag us over the line. Most of the other top players seemed down and out, injured and just about given up, but not Magic. He desperately wanted another crack at the big one, you could just feel it.

So I was glad for him in 2005. His leading and marking against Chick was brilliant while his goal-kicking yips nearly cost us, but he did finally get his premiership.

And didn't he stick it to the Weagles supporters at Subie in the 2006 finals

It was Adelaide but in 1998 Semi Final at the SCG after Swans had beaten Saints the week before. Adelaide were the reigning premiers and would go back to back that year

Magic has to be probably the most underrated player on a list that has been completely underrated for the better part of a decade. We are just a different team when he's not in the forward line. And the way he's come back over the last few of years after those knee problems which really limited his game has been pretty amazing. At least some of the fans around the league are finally just barely beginning to realise how good he actually is

Lets hope he can break the 260th barrier (injury free and all that) and charge towards his 300th.

1)hammy injury round 22 of i duno what year (2003?) against melb in final minutes of the game. misses finals. the pain, the agony, & that was only what i felt as a spectator!
