If he was such a Mirboo kid, then he would've played in their last two flags.
But he was out chasing money for anyone who would have him - think Buln at the time.

Would Peters be so keen to come back to Mirboo if they weren't vying for a flag? Doubt it.

Shane is a good football player, but he is an average character and not someone I'd of thought Mirboo would want back at their club, given that they appear to have a good bunch of kids.
 
Barry Brooks running around at Etihad for the legends game! Just decided to give the YYN game a miss last week to get himself right for prime time tonight!
 
Got good word that the finals this year will be umpired by North Gippy boys! Hopefully they will put the whistles away and let us actually play instead of falling for the classic Keno 'drop the knees for a push in the back trick'.:eek:

How did Will Troy get a senior game Plugga?? Anyone can get cheap kicks in the twos,:rolleyes: dosent justify a promotion though!!

Will went ok when on the ground today. Took a little to get started for him with his nerves but he warmed as the game went on.
 
Looks like Yinnar are timing their run.
Steaming home at the right time.
Roe-Duggan hasn't played much football this year - and he is a gun!

Might come down to what sides have fresher lists at finals time.

Mirboo were clearly the side to beat 5-6 weeks ago, but have since lost Holland and Nash = quality.
Boolarra appear to have a few out, does Sherriff even play anymore? Was a gun player!
As for Newborough, Plugger, where the hell is Ray Ablett? Such a good player on his day!

Top 5 looks very even and all 5 could be a chance for the flag. Will be a very interesting finals series this year

Take nothing away from Yinnar on the weekend. They were very very good!
But Mirboo Nth have a few guys injured and will come back in a few weeks.

4 A-grade on ballers I agree, but no contested ball winners.
The knock on Mirboo the past few years is their mids winning contested ball comes finals.
We know finals football is more contested football, especially in mid gippy.
But I do agree with you, those are all quality footballers and very good inclusions.

You can say what you like, but Mirboo North got smashed against Boolarra in contested ball in 2011 finals and still haven't rectified this. It's 2013 and what do they do? Bring in Shane Peters, the biggest skirt rider of boundies since Liam Durkin.

Shall leave this thread alone for a while and come back during the finals.

I'm hearing a Gippsland League team is strongly considering applying to play in the Mid Gippsland Football League.
 
Moe will never go to the mgfl. Yes, they may be struggling on the scoreboard, but this doesn't paint the picture, all clubs have their bad times. Moe has some very promising talent coming through and I'm sure they will be good again in a couple of years time.
