Interleague means nothing. Everyone knows clubs don't pick there gun players so they cant get injured.

Was there many players that didn't play in the mid gippy interleague side that should have played but didn't either through injury or not selected? The EDFL had a few that didn't play or get selected that would of made an impact. Was a pretty big gap between the 2 leagues bit in saying that we do have 15 teams to choose from. Some very good under 18 players running around for mid gippy.

Even if Mid Gippsland had full squad they would struggle against EDFL. Saying that. Mirboo Norths top 5 players didn't play. And from what I'm hearing most of the top clubs didn't really have their top liners represented.

I've been saying for years that EDFL is a better comp than Mid Gippy. Wasn't always the case. Mid Gippy better in the mid 90s but with the addition of the old West Gippy clubs, and the privatisation of the SEC and subsequent loss of tradesmen/footballers from the area, the tide soon turned.

Jason Winderlich to coach Thorpy for the next 3 years with David Hille heading up as well.

Other recent Essendon retirees to also represent the blues from next season-on.

And David Hille isn't playing. Some of the Mid Gippy rumours are quite fun.

Glenn Michie has had to resign from coaching Newborough due to family commitments, travel, etc. Remember, he was only going to play there for a season or so, but coaching is so much more demanding of your time. In his words, family is more important than a red ball, particularly when you are traveling miles to not only play, but coach as well.

Good luck to him. The club will be worse for losing a quality bloke like Glenn.
