I’ve just noticed Mitch Grigg hasn’t nominated

My guess: Port have told him we’re not interested

We’re pretty much his only AFL option, because his father has MND, he doesn’t want to move interstate. Plus there’s rules around re-drafting a previously delisted player, so that rules out the Crows.

But unfortunately for him, we already have too many similar players, with Jack Trengove not getting a game despite racking up 40 disposals a week in the SANFL
You can't re-draft your own previously delisted player? I wonder why it is an issue.

SA v WA state game is on this weekend. Last audition for the mid-season draft. Most attention will be on the WA squad going by this review of the SA forward line

In the absence of injured Glenelg star Josh Scott (broken arm), the attack could be headed up by Eagle Jack Hayes with plenty of medium-sized goal kickers such as Bulldogs Justin Hoskin and Troy Menzel, West’s Jonathan Beech, North’s Lewis Hender and Eagle Jared Petrenko.

If I have it right the following players have played AFL and second group have been rookies on AFL lists
1)Troy Menzel, Mitch Grigg, Dom Barry, Sam Colquhoun, Danyle Pearce, Jared Petrenko

2)Justin Hoskin, Keenan Ramsey, Matthew Panos, Anthony Wilson, Will Snelling, Jonathan Beech

Port juniors from pre 2015, ie lost zones at end of 2014, that ended up at other clubs
Justin Hoskin (2010 reserves), Keenan Ramsey (2014 reserves), Matthew Rose (2010 A grade + reserves), Anthony Wilson (2010 U/18's + reserves), Zane Kirkwood (2010 A grade + reserves),

Then there is Barry, Colquhoun, Pearce and Snelling who have spent time with the Power at Alberton.

The talent scouts for the mid season draft would have loved the young guns game. Lots of overlooked talent in one game. Perfect timing. (last sunday)

Does this mean Cam Sutcliffe will not be picked up?

I liked the look of Mayo playing one of his first games for Subi league last weekend. Was colts leading goalkicker last year and played with Schofield junior in their premiership victory. One to monitor going forward. Reminds me a bit of Mason Shaw who I felt with better KPF management could have made it.

Jarvis Pina might be very good value as a mid-season pickup if we're looking for something long term. Pickett hasn't been seen yet this year due to injury but hope he gets an opportunity somewhere.

These are players with some medical issues that the clubs want clarity on.

Many players do not have medical issues - Sutcliffe for example - and he trains with the maggies so they would be aware of any issues.

With the number of injuries we have including Dixon I wouldn't be surprised to see Sturt's Hugo Munn drafted by us (197cm).
yes or some other key forwards

from:- https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-04...ho-will-be-the-next-tim-kelly-or-kane-lambert

Key forwards

Ryan Gardner – Footscray (VFL)
21yo, 197cm, 93kg
The defender-turned-forward has managed six goals from his opening two matches of 2019 after being cut by Geelong at the end of last season.

Will Kennedy – Western Jets (TAC Cup)
18yo, 198cm, 88kg
Moving from Sandringham to Western Jets as an over-age player, could provide an option for a club looking for a future key-position prospect.

Liam McBean – Glenelg (SANFL)
23yo, 202cm, 98kg
Made recruiters stand up and take notice with a bag of nine against Adelaide's SANFL side last week, just his second game back after a year travelling.

Nathan Mullenger-McHugh – Box Hill (VFL)
21yo, 196cm, 88kg
Straight from the Western Bulldogs to the Hawks' leadership group. Will continue to develop as a key-position player.

Dillon O'Reilly – East Fremantle (WAFL)
18yo, 193cm, 79kg
Son of former Cat, Docker and Blue Stephen, Dillon presents as a third forward option after playing for WA's under-18 outfit last year.

here what was said about Hugo

Hugo Munn – Sturt (SANFL)
19yo, 197cm, 91kg
About a dozen AFL clubs spoke to the talented teenager last year and he is exactly the type of player who could thrive in an elite system.
