Oh wow, I was quite certain we were taking Jack Watkins. Hopefully thats not a sign that Butters is thinking of leaving end of next year

Port Adelaide selected Ewan Mackinlay with its second pick (pick 11) in the mid-season rookie draft on Wednesday night.
Hailing from the North Adelaide SANFL system, Mackinlay boasts genuine AFL traits, including speed, power and good run and carry.
The 21-year-old has played 21 games at SANFL level over the past two years, and has averaged 17.1 disposals, three tackles and three marks from seven games in 2025.
A Lavington Football Club product from the Ovens and Murray League in NSW, Mackinlay finished 2023 as runner-up best and fairest for the club and tied first for leading goalkicker. https://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/1793119/ewan-mackinlay

Picking Liddy over Watkins is a great way to make it harder for us to attract players to the Magpies in future while still only adding a limited state league plodder. And maybe pissing off Butters as well. Great stuff.

We desperately need a clearance player in Watkins, and what do we do 🙄 Tells me Butters is on the way out 100%

Just looked at the players drafted, if I hadn't paid some attention to those being discussed I don't think I could have recognised any of their names otherwise. I might have thought Oscar Adams sounded a bit familiar.
