Heard from a reliable source that we are drafting Mountford and Hibberd. Good choices imo. Hibberd BFNAAK
Happy to hear we're not letting a trifling detail like ineligibility get in our way.

They both did. They're eligible. Can re-draft delisted players if they nominated for draft.
They're both eligible for other clubs, but for some reason the AFL isn't allowing clubs to draft players they delisted the previous year.
My read is Heaps of fun is correct which is why I wondered if they were in the main draft (I believed they were).

He played predominantly as a centre half-back before switching into the ruck the last two seasons, but has returned to his defensive roots in 2019 while still rucking where required.

Kelly's intercept marking and blazing speed for his size – he runs sub-three seconds for 20m – are his strengths and he's featured in the best players in three of his four matches this year.

Look this is all well and good, but I have a couple of questions:
-What was his ATAR result
-Does he have even a basic understanding of negative gearing
-Is he eligible for the first home buyer's grant
We just don't have the time to bring him up to speed. Market prices are levelling out somewhat, it's a buyer's market out there.

In that's case we should relist Mountford in place of Benny Jacobs, and Hugo Munn in place of EVW. On the off chance Benny is fit this year chances are someone like McKenzie will be able to be placed on the LTI list.
Rather look at another mid than Mountford but we should be taking two at the least, probably three picks in this draft. Could do Jacobs, EVW and McKenzie and bet on three guys being done for the year (or Daw and Walker not making it back in 2019) before they return.

The election could be pivotal too, the new player needs to grasp this. If the kid in question doesn't at least have a basic understanding of the pros & cons of commercial vs residential we really need to be looking elsewhere.

We need one that's ready right now.
Surely given our current position you'd hope we take the player with the greatest long term upside irrespective of immediate impact? No reason we can't have both of course if we make the smart decision with regards to 1-2 of Jacobs/Walker/McKenzie, but you can guarantee that's what Clarkson/ Beveridge will be doing. Richmond have already retired Grigg.

This is a massive opportunity to get a head start on the cluster**** of mid table clubs, and I just pray our recruiting team are taking this as seriously as any other list management period, because we are almost definitely not going to have access to a top 3 pick at the end of the year.

The sad thing is, if you are a young player that has a choice between North and any other club in the AFL; they would be nuts to choose North.

As a club we stand for nothing, we throw our players under the bus at the first sign of trouble, we refuse to play people on form, and refuse to hold players or administrators accountable for poor performance.

Shambolic does not begin to describe the club at the moment.

Seriously, why would you want to come to North as a professional player?

If the club has any balls it would retire Scott Thompson or more realistically, place Walker or Wilkinson onto the LTI list and take a second pick into the mid season draft.

Will Walker PCL Indefinite
Tom Wilkinson Ankle 7-9 weeks
Agreed. Even if they end up not being up to it and are gone in 6 months. Need to get a look at some new players.

Why should Scott Thompson be the one to commit Hari Kiri for the club? He's professional, a good leader, been in decent form and coming off a strong season.

Probably in better condition than most of the blokes 10 years younger than him on the list.

The delusion of youth, and the fallacy of AFL development.

Thommo's output so far this year is good enough to get another contract for next year.

It seems so. Hey and I'm less sentimental by the day these days, would probably be open to throwing 1 or 2 seniors under the bus if we thought we could get early access to a couple of really good kids.

Just don't understand Thompson being the bloke nominated when he's probably the most professional player we've had on and off field in the last decade after Boomer in terms of doing everything possible to get on the field each week and do anything to win when on it.
