Our VFL side has been significantly strengthened, both these guys will be playing a lot in the Magoos learning systems and honing their craft before consideration at the next level. Would love to see one or both earn a game at AFL level this year.

If you're referring to Mason and Browne, they can't play in our senior side because they aren't AFL listed.
Your point about learning our systems is valid though - they would slot in seamlessly.

Welcome to our new recruits and it certainly puts pressure on some who are on our current list, as we will need to delist a number to enable the minimum number of draft selections.

Looking forward, with Tommy and a number of potential NGA and Father Son recruits, our selections for the 2025 draft could be already a full book.

Fast Forward to the 2026 trade period, we will have a number of available draft selections, watch us come for Archer May who has had only 18 months with the Dons (as per his contract). He will be ready to come across to the Pies and join us with Westy & Howey.

Great to see O’Bree doing his first post-draft interview. Lots of smiling which is a welcome change from stony-faced Dekka. I don’t think we ever saw Dekka looking excited after a draft - even after nabbing N.Daicos!

Yeah, there were a few defenders taken after their pick but I think they saw May as best available (or they just wanted a win over us this year, small minded f#$cker) and might see McMahon as an option in defence in the short term. They need some ruck support too, so that was a need.

I’m happy for Liam getting an opportunity, could turn out to be the best selection in this MSD or it shows we got it right delisting him. I do hope he takes his chances, FWIW

No, referring to the new guys coming into our VFL team adding significant upside without losing the two of Browne and Mason as you mentioned.

TBH if I was Mason I'm not sure I'd want to hang around anyway. it's a decent slight taking someone from outside for your spot.

Oh looks like Steele and Howes are on 6 month contracts at this point.
Only five of those players selected had nominated for longer term contracts until at least the end of 2026 — Tom McCarthy, Ewan Mackinlay, Archer May (thanks to us lol) , Zac Walker and Harrison Ramm.
