So, what do we do for the next 4 hours?. Anybody written any poems they'd like to share?. A favourite Netflix series perhaps. I'm climbing the walls here
NFL draft is on.

For Manic, the Magpie’s Roar

In black and white, he walks with pride,
Through storms and sun, he's by their side.
A heart that beats with every play,
Manic rides each game day’s sway.

From Victoria Park to the G,
He chants with fierce intensity.
A true believer, loud and strong,
Win or lose, he sings their song.

The Collingwood crest upon his chest,
He backs his boys, he gives his best.
With every mark and every goal,
The Pies ignite his burning soul.

He rides the highs, survives the lows,
In finals fire or season snows.
For every clash, he brings the heat—
A passion none could dare defeat.

So raise your scarf, let’s toast aloud,
To Manic, loyal, bold and proud.
Through thick and thin, he’ll never stray—
A Magpie 'til his dying day.

Ai 🙏
You should ask your Fat Dad to put that in the Bible, Manicas 1, verse 2

**** me, that gave me goosebumps. You went above and beyond
I got jealous so made one for me. For you actually, to relieve boredom.
Go Pies.

Ode to Fat Jesus with Tzatziki Divine

In sandals wide and robe so tight,
He strolls through day and feasts by night.
A belly full, a heart so wide,
With tzatziki always by his side.

No fish or loaves today, my friend,
Just garlic dip that knows no end.
Cucumbers cool, and yogurt thick,
He dips his pita—holy flick.

Disciples gather, mouths agape,
As Jesus scoops with saintly shape.
A miracle? Perhaps just lunch,
But holy smokes—that heavenly crunch!

He laughs, he blesses, licks the bowl,
Tzatziki warms his jolly soul.
Not thin nor lean, but full of grace,
With feta crumbs upon his face.

Let sermons wait, let hymns be sung,
Of garlic breath and holy tongue.
For in this sauce, divine and white,
Fat Jesus finds his true delight.

A fart is just a gust of wind that blows through the trees, it warms the bed on winter nights and paralyzes fleas

Clancy Dennis has written a couple about outback Australia. You were right that he's a writer, but got the wrong genre.

Last one I promise.
Kirby

Kirby, Kebabs in Bed

He crept in late, with stealth and flair,
A takeaway scent perfumed the air.
Wrapped in foil, still piping hot—
A midnight feast his stomach sought.

He fluffed the pillows, dimmed the light,
Unwrapped the lamb with pure delight.
Tzatziki dripped like candle wax,
While chili sauce launched sneak attacks.

He groaned with joy, each spicy bite
A dreamy, greasy kind of night.
But then—a growl not from his plate,
His wife stood there, eyes full of hate.

“The sheets!” she cried. “The smell! The mess!”
“Is this some act of war, no less?”
With garlic breath, he tried to plead,
“It's just a snack… a primal need!”

She seized the naan and flung it far,
It landed in his old guitar.
A skewer flew, the hummus spilled,
Their bedtime peace forever killed.

He sleeps now on the couch instead,
Dreaming of kebabs in bed.
And though he longs for one more taste,
He fears again his wife's distaste.

Here's a couple from Clancy Dennis where he really captures the harshness of the outback and his own broken dreams:

November pain
No one drafted me
I might move to Cooper Pedee

No club to call home
My foot is sore
As I limp across the Nullabor
Where will I limp to?
I better not become a Blue

So let’s wait to see if we have MCL or ACL for McStay. Could be 2 list spots possibly. A key back and forward. Riley Mason and McCartin?

I think Mason will be gone before we have any picks anyway. I’m not against getting Freddy back for 6 months to cover our asses. Which is exactly what it would be, cover. We tend to not use the MSD like that, we get a “long term” pick.

Will be interesting to see what happens, we’ll definitely need a new key forward in the VFL as someone will pick Riley Mason. The guys got something.

If he nominates he would be
Has he been nominating for the National Draft?

Cats were interested in Joey Richards in the midseason draft the year we ended up drafting him, but he wasn't eligible as he hadn't nominated for the recent National Draft.

A couple times he has. The year he won our bnf. He didn't last year. So its been off and on probably depending how he feels he has done during the year, or if he thinks he is a chance.

He did nominate for the National Draft last year (that was the year he won the b&f): https://www.afl.com.au/news/1255446/final-list-of-nominees-for-the-2024-telstra-afl-draft

So he can be selected for sure. I think he's good enough to be on an AFL list, but he's 28, and I suspect likely to never get a crack at it. I'd still much prefer him to Tomlinson if we do pick up a tall defender, but think we'll look elsewhere.

If we are looking at a short term defensive option I think Glover is a standout candidate
Think he would fit in very well to our senior defensive group as a second or third tall role
Josh Browne - elite pace. Slight query on his kicking. Definitely worth a look at some stage

Also. Josh Browne. Please and thank you.

Gun.
This guy.
He announced himself in the preseason game against Richmond.
I hope we find at least two picks so we can collect Browne and some defensive tall cover.

I can see Browne partnering with Daicos, McGuane and Long in a future midfield.

He's also someone that can play wing as well as inside and as we see can go forward and kick goals.

Draft picks: 52, 55, 60, 66, 82 (likely to use three selections)

Collingwood has the latest start to the draft of any club. Its first pick – currently No.52 – will come in a handful of spots once bids rule out other selections, but it won't be a significant rise. The Pies are set to use three picks at the draft and have been looking at talls in their region of picks. If Dandenong defender Noah Mraz got through to their pick, the Magpies would likely pounce, while they have also looked at defensive trio Riak Andrew (tied to Melbourne's NGA), Adrian Cole (St Kilda NGA) and Lachie Voss as well as South Australian forward Charlie West. Clancy Dennis, a key back who is recovering from foot surgery, has also been considered by the Pies. They have also done work on some athletic midfield/forward options in Richmond VFL talent Sam Davidson, Tasmanian Nathaniel Sulzberger, Northern Knight Lucas McInerney and Sydney Academy runner Joel Cochran. Don't be surprised if the Pies pull a bid on the Swans midfielder, who ran the best 2km time trial at the Draft Combine.

Who we where linked to Pre-Draft so could we go for a Adam Cole or Clancy Dennis as a KPD?
