He makes a lot of good points but his tatoos are terrible
After mentioning we had the oldest list in the League, talking about getting our age down and planning for the future he then says: "So Tomlinson at 31 years of age makes perfect sense and fits into that youth structure that we are definitely building at the Pies." That doesn't make any sense to me!!

He eventually goes on to say he doesn't want us to get Tomlinson, and I do at least agree with that sentiment. He'll be 32 in August, and if we're picking someone up I hope they're a fair bit younger than that!

We're picking someone up for the 2025 flag, we're all in for now. We don't want a 20 year old who's still years away from being AFL capable

I wouldn't expect we'd be chasing an untried 20yo, but am just hoping we can find someone in a state league who looks a good prospect, and isn't another 30+ type. Whether someone good enough exists, who knows?! Anyone we've picked up in the mid-season draft since it made it's return a few years ago has been reasonably young to very young, and they've all been kept on the list for quite some time. Of course it's possible our policy might have changed, but chances are we still won't be looking for a short-fix solution, and will only bring in a player we see as being on the list for at least a while.

Reef still has to come back in though. There just isn't anyone out there that would meet your criteria. I think we'll just fill the spot for this year and re assess at the end of the season

Yes, McInnes will hopefully be back in the team come early next year, and of course he'll remain on the list. I'm mostly going on what we've done in the (recent) past, as we haven't been using this draft to just bring in a player for a few months. The policy might change with new people calling the shots, but we'll see. Last year things were somewhat different, with Murphy and (I think) Carmichael effectively replaced in the MSD, as they were not going to be coming back onto the list at the end of the year.

No doubt we'll have people on here desperate for us to take yet another pick after the news of Harrison's setback, but since he and McInnes will be on our list for 2026 I'm not convinced we'll be wanting to add too many extras in the meantime!
