Anyone get the feeling that Sting just looked at Biff's ratings and took 3 grades off everyone except Moloney?

I reckon people are being harsh on Sylvia and generous to Gawn. Sylvia has got the consistency we've all been baying for and is pretty high on the 426. Gawn showed he could handle AFL level ruckmen, but kicked all of 1.3 or something and broke even at best in the ruck. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with that and I think he'll come along in leaps and bounds, but is showing he is competent at this level worth any more than C+?

Sylvia - Still very good when he is, but he still hasn't fulfilled he full potential yet. He could be a top 10 player in the league with his skill set. Dont think Bailey has helped lately playing him primarily as a half forward, needs more time in the middle.

Gawn - When young ruckman play AFL games early on in their career they are usually pathetic. Max was quite good in the games he played. He is a 19yo playing against some of the strongest guys in the league. Once he puts on some more muscle and builds up some endurance watch out. Everything points to a very bright future.

There should be an option to vote people off the board. There are a few people who constantly troll and flame this place, talking crap about the Demons when all we want to do is discuss the team, not read the hate of a superficial supporter.

Completely agree with Rde on Gawn. Take a look back on how long it took Vickery, Lobbe, Jamar, Martin etc to look even half as good as Gawn did. And consider that Gawn is in his second year.

Biff - very good summation of the players season so far. We have had some good players, good improvers and some disappointing ones as well. Will be an interesting second half to the year to say the least.

I don't know what you people look at. Have a look at our best 22, overall the team would be between rated between C and D and that is exactly where we are at.

Moloney is the only one who has played like an A grader. The rest have been up and down like yo yo's.

You have to take circumstance in to account when rating a players season IMO.

It is unrealistic for players like Watts, Trengove, Scully, etc. to be playing like 100+ game veterans.

In my opinion our young players have been the most consistent with their endeavour, it's the senior players which lack the consistency the most.

He takes a harsh view on all sorts of players to be a hero and then when we disagree he says we wear rose colored glasses and we have no idea what we are talking about. In reality it's pathetic and while we can all see it he clearly can't.

Just look at some of his grades. He gave Stef Martin a C+. One of our most improved players who took over number one ruck duties for 5 weeks and was nothing short of sensational. He has also been terrific since Jamar returned. And he gets a C+. Joke.

He then gives Watts a C. From where he has come from last year he has come on in leaps and bounds. How he can justify a C is beyond me but, then, he can't. Another joke.

Do I mention Sylvia? No, I'll leave that one. We all know how much he hates him.

He gave Howe, a fantastic find who has been terrific, a C. He has given Strauss a D, a kid who no-one rates and who has actually been very handy across half back. To put that in perspective he gave Morton a D FFS. And the list goes on...

Bottom line though is that some of our players have improved quite a bit and the tide will turn. We don't wear rose colored glasses. We are simply realistic. Sting needs a pair of glasses himself to actually see what's going on. Flog.

Stef Martin is at the very least a B this year. No one, bar yourself, would argue that. He was an E at best last year but his fantastic improvement has been a highlight.

Watts is the same. Has become an integral part of our side.

That's 7 very, very good games right there and that's leaving out the 31 disposal, 7 mark and 7 tackle game against the GC. You are WRONG and you know it. He has been one highlight against some Top 4 teams and done what he should against lesser teams. He has had ONE bad game which was last week. If Beamer is an A then Sylvia is, at the very least, a B+. Beamer has had one or two poor games this year also yet he gets an A (which I don't argue with). You hate for Sylvia is a disgrace and based on nothing.

Howe is, to me, a B-, C+ at the least. Been an important part of our forward line over the last month.

Strauss a C. Has been better than Morton, and better than expected.

I'm not arguing that he's been excellent, more that he has had his most consistent year to date. He has had a few excellent games and some very good ones with one, maybe two, games he would like to forget. There are many players within our ranks who have done worse than that this year.
