Thought it would be nice to see how people are travelling. What went right and what went wrong.

Ranking: 21k
Uniques: McVeigh did okay, Robbie Gray killed me, Toumpas pick ****ed me. Just picked up Boyd, hoping for the best.
Best Trade: Zorko>SJ R4
Worst Trade: Goddard>Hartlett R3.
Never again: Zorko, Hartlett, Chapman, Grimes, Gray, anyone from Port for over 5 weeks.
Studs: GAJ, Swan, Gibbs, BJ (in and out the team), Heppell, Gibbs, Pendles, SJ, Cox, JOM,T.Mitchell. Nothing unique here.
Duds: Cotchin, Birchall, Chapman, Karnezis, Tex (before the injury), Grimes
Missed the boat: Wines, M.Jones, Laird, Westhoff, Vlaustin's first rise, Ball, and a few others.
Vent/Discuss: Toumpas over Wines cost me 200-250k and 200-250 points. Tex Walker over Riewoldt or Martin hurts. Running Blicavs/Daw as R2 has not been ideal. Held Chapman for 4 rounds, sigh. Am slowly climbing up the rankings, am hoping for a top 10k finish. Only good things were I got SJ in early, have only had 1 donut, only 7/22 trades backfired.
Rate Yourself: 4/10

Ranking: 11k
Uniques: Douglas is a champ, had Swallow from the get-go too when he pumped big scores in R1-3 but not a unique anymore.
Best Trade: Zorko -> JJK R3
Worst Trade: Bringing in Hartlett R6
Never again: Hartlett, Zorko (maybe in a few years), Gaff
Studs: Swan, Pendles, Barlow, Douglas, Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Martin, Stevie J
Duds: Birchall, Franklin, Deledio for a few rounds
Missed the boat: M Jones, Laird, Hoff, Ball, K Martin, probably loads more
Vent/Discuss: Started well enough but had a run of injuries and suspensions throughout rounds 6-8 that made me drop to around 26k at one point. Held Gibbs which is paying off now but probably wasn't worth it for those rounds. Main issue is no Ablett, was meant to bring him in a few rounds ago but he's just too damn expensive now.
Rate Yourself: 6/10

Ranking: 4k
Uniques: T Lynch (not initially) - got on him before his price rise and got a 165 and a solid average since. Chapman ****ed me - kept for a few weeks too long hoping he would come back straight away. Hartlett (from the start) - got all his good scores and have since traded him away. Byrnes - was a great money maker and got some decent scores mixed with average scores so not fussed.
Best Trade: Pittard (213k) -> Ellis (217k) OR Sauce Jacobs (435k) -> SJ (501k)
Worst Trade: Hada brain fart on a busy friday at work and instead of trading out Zorko, I traded out Rockliff to Kennedy. Got god points and a solid average but that trade rooted my week and a few weeks recovery down the track.
Never again: Chapman, Hartlett, Pittard
Studs: All the usual
Duds: Cotchin, Chapman, Karnezis, Westhoff, Hartlett, Zorko
Missed the boat: M.Jones, Laird, Terlich
Vent/Discuss: Held Chapman for 4 odd rounds thinking each round he would come back. Getting Terlich would have helped but preferred other trade options those few weeks. Ranking is still decent considering some of the stuff ups and injuries and down games this year. Team is almost there and doing well in my cash leagues so fairly happy.
Rate Yourself: 7.5/10

Ranking: 884
Uniques: Montagna & O'Keefe are my most unique players. Ellis, Z.Clarke, Riewoldt & Scotland are also 'somewhat unique'. I also had Maric, Siposs, K.Lucas, K.Stevens & Hartlett from the start who were quite unique. All of them were traded prior to round 8.
Good trades: Zorko -> Leuenberger R2, Karnezis -> Kennedy R3, Dwyer -> Cloke R11 & Maric -> SJ R7
Worst/best trades: Goodes -> Waters round 6 was my worst by a mile. I replaced a 0 with another 0. Luckily I got rid of Waters in round 7 for Vlastuin which has easily been my best trade of the year. I actually only made that trade just before lockout after having Waters -> Shaw all week. Shaw then missed 2 of the next 3 rounds so I could not be happier with that trade.
Never Again: Beau 'mother****en' Waters. The best part about having him in my team was easily the feeling I got when I traded him out
Studs: The super premiums + Riewoldt, Heppell, Montagna & Cloke (averaged 118.5 over 2 weeks in my team)
Duds: Waters, Zorko, Maric, Siposs, Karnezis, Birchall (hasn't topped 80 for my team), Scotland (Got him after his first 5 scores above 80) & maybe Hartlett
Missed the boat: Barlow, Priddis, Ball Jones, Laird, Kerridge, Daw, K.Martin - I might get on though, etc
Vent/Discuss: I think my trading has been quite solid except for round 6 where Goodes -> Waters & Gibbs -> Watson actually cost me 30 points in that round since Gibbs was already in my midfield and I would have fielded Evans' 84 instead of Wato's 54 had I not traded. I scored 1772 that round which is easily my worst score for the year and the 0 I copped has been my only 0 for the year so far. I produced my best score of 2279 in round 5 where I came 68th for the round mainly because of Riewoldt, Mayes & Hartlett.

My vent is that I had both Harbrow and Hannebery in my team almost all preseason before making last minute adjustments and getting rid of both. Both would have been more than handy, I'm not too annoyed about missing Harbrow but I'm still slightly frustrated that I didn't get on Hannebery. Scott Selwood was another I had almost all pre season but traded out just before lockout and trading Maric in for Goldstein at the last minute also turned out poorly. On the flip side I'm very glad I got rid of Marc Murphy and Buddy after they were in my team most of the pre season. I believe I picked up Ablett and Riewoldt for those 2.

My last minute changes from memory:
IN: Ablett, Pendlebury, Maric, Riewoldt, Martin, Hartlett & K.Lucas
OUT: Murphy, S.Selwood, Goldstein, Franklin, Bartel, Harbrow & Hannebery

So clearly I shouldn't complain because I won some and lost some. I rate picking up Riewoldt from round 1, avoiding Buddy from round 1 and avoiding Cotchin all season as some of my best decisions this year.

Overall I'm quite happy with where I currently sit, I've moved up about 1400 ranks over the first 2 bye rounds with an average of 1978.75 and will hopefully field 20 this week and may be lucky to move up again.
Rate Yourself: 7.5/10

Ranking: 41st (The Anzac Spirit)
Uniques: Hibberd, Malceski, Scooter, Redden, Lewis probably the main ones.
Best Trade: Blicavs -> Stevie J (Round 5)
Worst Trade: Gibbs -> Birchall (Gibbs stayed out for a few weeks as I expected, but man, Birch went to sh*t
Never again: Any Kangaroos youngster who has a good preseason, got fooled by Wright a year or two ago, Harper this year.
Studs: Goddard, Heppell, Hibberd, Swan, Ablett, Scooter, Cox, Bartel, Lewis etc. (All from Round 1)
Duds: JPK, Zorko, Harper, ZSmith, Birchall of late
Missed the boat: Terlich probably the main one here, KMart looks the good as well if he keeps getting a game.
Vent/Discuss: Very solid season thus far. Highest ranking of 9th and will hopefully climb up again this week. Had a lot of trades work out for the best, now taking a more risky approach in my attempt at the 50k. Overall a very good year so far.
Rate Yourself: 9/10

Wow killing it Anzac, nice work.

Ranking: 6k
Uniques: Harbrow, Ellis, Steven, JPK, Jelwood, Lewis, Maric, NN (not sure on % ownerships but these guys always seem to be my differentials in league games)
Best trade: Bringing in GAJ about 5 wks ago, cant even remember who for
Worst trade: Traded in Libba for a week for his 40
Never again: Scotland, Hartlett, Greene
Studs: GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Ellis, Harbrow, Bartel, Lewis (before this week) Gibbs, Goddard, M.Jones, JOM
Duds: F#*#n Maric!! Greene, JPK has been frustrating but maybe harsh calling a dud
Missed the boat: Wines and Terlich the two big ones
Vent/Discuss: For all the talk of structure etc in the preseason, it comes down to picking the proper premos in ur original side...eg I had S.Selwood, Jack, and Goldstein/Kreuzer in for Greene, JPK and Maric at various stages of the PS
Still fairly happy where Im at now, climbing steadily (was 21k 3 wks ago), still in elimnator and top 4 in all leagues (including cash league which is my main focus)
Rating: 6.5/10

Ranking: 24k
Uniques: Mundy probably my only one. Have cursed his name all year because I was trading out Beams for either him or Barlow. That worked well. Mundy's been ok, but would have rathered Barlow in hindsight.
Best Trade: Libba>SJ R4 / Lonergan>Ball R10
Worst Trade: Gibbs>Birchall R6... the infamous backline carnage rounds. I hate you so much Birchall.
Never again: Port players. Travis Varcoe (why do I buy into the "potential"?). Pavlich (he's much in the Adam Goodes category now). Brisbane players (it's like Russian roulette as to who'll be the sub).
Studs: Ablett, Goddard, Heppell, SJ, Jaegar Bomb, Bartel (was a temporary selection to be changed to SJ after injury buy Jimmeh has brought it), Ball
Duds: Cotchin, Birchall, Westhoff, Hartless (glad he's gone), Gray, Jed Anderson (heard Clarko on the radio pre-season and seemed like this kid would get games... is he still injured? WTF?).
Missed the boat: M.Jones, Laird, Evans, Terlich.
Vent/Discuss: Possibly the worst trade in the history of Dream Team - coming into round 3, I had Scott Selwood for the first two rounds. Seemed like he was not playing DT friendly. Flicked him for Liberatore... I was looking for that "breakout" player. Turns out, it was Selwood after all. He smashes 140 and never looked back, while I got one price rise out of Libba... at least I traded him for SJ. :P
Rate Yourself: 3/10. Too many misses, not enough hits. Couldn't get my head into research early, so started with Vlastuin and Docherty... should have known they weren't playing. Cost myself early wins, so now I'm mid-low top 8 in all my leagues. Should be able to be in the hunt come end of year, thankfully, due to 2 trades per week. Shit draw as well. I'm 2nd or 3rd top scorer in all my leagues but current positions are 6/7/4/6.

Ranking: 22k

Uniques: Scooter, Jack

Best Trade: Wines > Priddis Rd8 / Westhoff > Johnson Rd7 / Moloney > Jack Rd11, Maric > Kreuzer Rd2

Worst Trade: Gibbs > Scotland Rd 6 / Viney > Thomas Rd 7

Never again: Zorko, Scotland, Varcoe, Kreuzer, Thomas

Studs: GAJ, Swan, Scooter, Goddard, SJ, Heppell, Jack, O'Meara, Vlastuin, Wines, K.Martin (so far)

Duds: Cotchin, Birchall, Maric (traded after Rd1), Scotland, Varcoe

Missed the boat: Terlich, M.Jones, J.Thomas, Ellis, Cachia, Laird, Kerridge, Wingard

Vent/Discuss: Traded Maric to Kreuzer after round 1, Kreuz is injured two weeks later. Dangerfield to Moloney after round 2 wan't bad, until he was subbed off on 24. Still got his big price rise. Cotchin, Birchall both dud picks. Injuries, injuries and more injuries, all year. Haven't been able to get a full side on the park, always have at least one or two injuries every week.

Rate Yourself: 3.5/10 Over the last 6 weeks my ranking has gone 8k, 13k, 14k, 16, 17k, 22k. Haven't been able to get a good score in forever, but I want to believe everything turns around this week. I'm better placed than most this round with 20 likely to play including having a full strength premium forward line available with good bench cover. I have 388k in the bank and ready to come home like a steam train.

Ranking: 258
Uniques: Starting with N. Riewoldt and Cloke was handy. Had M. Jones from the start- thought he was a lock as he was matured aged.
Best Trade: My first two trades of the season, T.Greene to Watson and Watts to JJK were huge wins.
Worst Trade: Macaffer to Neade in Round 3.
Never again: Sylvia, Old farts like Embley and Ill have to think twice about 2nd Year players like Greene for initial squad.
Studs: Goldstein was a pick who I thought everyone should of started with. Usual suspects of Swan, Goddard and GAJ.
Duds: T. Bellchambers, Sylvia, Watts, Embley, Greene
Missed the boat: Ellis. Still might trade him in though.
Vent/Discuss: One of my best years in Dream Team so far, yet still started with a few dodgy initial picks. I always back myself to trade my way out of a hole. Caring less in the pre season about Dream Team (taking more risks and not caring if they dont work out well, unique picks/ strategies) has paid off.
Rate Yourself: 8/10

Rank: 1948
Uniques: Started with Sylvia & Watts, Recent additions of NicNat, K.Jack (not that unique)
Best Trade: Sylvia>Hoff after R2 & Hoff > Ablett after R5
Worst Trade: Dwyer>D.Thomas after R6; Not trading injured players
Never Again: M.Murphy
Studs: Moloney, Ablett, Swan, Pendles, Goddard, Heppell, Vlas, Priddis, JOM, JJK, Martin, Wines, Heath, Macaffer, NicNat (everyone had em)
Duds: Me for mistimed trades, either too late or have gone on a burst eg Dwyer/Blicavs. Murphy, Cotchin, Currie, Karnezis, Pittard, Crouch, D.Thomas, Hartlett
Missed the Boat: Ellis, N.Riewoldt, S.Selwood, Nicholls
Vent/Discuss: Injuries at frustrating times, in game injuries, players topping out before going on a rampage after I've traded them, "1-2 week injuries" - hold (turns into 4), "4-6" trade, comes back after missing 1. Didn't back myself in on some picks I was considering early days - eg went Murph as a safe option over K.Jack & S.Selwood. Kreuzer looking the goods apart from injury which resulted in Blicavs 20-40s!
Rate yourself: 5/10

Ranking: 12272
Best Trade: Ablett in round 9 - 139,140,119,136
Worst Trade: Beau Fing Waters in rnd 6
Studs:
Duds:
Missed the boat: Wines
Vent/Discuss: an absolute mess of a season, riddled with injury, suspension and shitness... Karnekiks, Emblowme, "dont call me dane" Zorko, Wfarkhoff, Birchfarkall, weak as Waters, Fyferocious, "pretty boy" Hodge, Pissard, Kneeghts, "one hit wonder" Maric, Herschelle Gibbs, Goodes, Leuenberger, Rockliff, Stanton, Dwyer, and the list goes on - i cant believe how much of a shite season i've had till now... it has been a season of consistent band-aiding... and a season to forget...
Rate Yourself: 5.8/10

Ranking: 9,661 (this has come in steadily from 17k in round 7)

Uniques: Jelwood (R2), Sam Jacobs (since start), Scott Selwood (only had for past 2 weeks), Boyd (only had one week), Leuey (held onto him during his injury, wasn't unique before that)

Best Trades: Longer to Leuey (R1), Karnezis to JJK (R2), Plowman to Terlich (R4), Kommer to Evans (R5), Patton to Mayes (R5), JPK to Ablett (R6 - when he was at his lowest price of the year at 580k), Neade to Ben Kennedy (R8 - has been critical for me during the byes), Dwyer to SJ (R10), Evans to Mitchell (R11), M Jones to Scott Selwood (R11), Blicavs to Nicholls (R12), Crouch to Boyd (R12)

Worst Trades: Danger to Jelwood (R2 - got a couple of 100s and then 5 weeks below 100), Gibbs to Hartlett (R6 - at his highest price), Wines to Watson (R9 - chose him over Barlow)

Never again: Jelwood, Watson, Grimes, Cotchin, Pittard, Jacobs, Hartlett

Studs: GAJ, Swan, Scooter, Goddard, SJ, Heppell, Terlich, O'Meara, Matt Jones (picked over Viney from the start, probably my best decision of the season), Vlastuin, Wines, Bartel, JJK, Danger (since bringing him back in for Cotchin in R7)

Duds: Cotchin, Karnezis, Kane Mitchell, Longer, Patton, Grimes, Pittard

Missed the boat: J.Thomas, Ellis (have finally got him this week), Cachia, Laird, Kerridge, Wingard, Macaffer (traded for Dwyer in R3 when he was a late out and had made no cash for me)

Vent/Discuss: Picked too many premiums who have underperformed, and then have missed better at a cheaper price (e.g. Martin over Buddy, Cotchin over Jack, Barlow over Watson, Hartlett over Hibberd, Grimes over Heppell... the list could go on)

Rate Yourself: 5/10 Have started to finally recover in all of my big leagues, and my team only has 2 more premium spots to fill in defense. A shit start to the year has killed me, as my team isn't any worse than guys ranked in the top 1000 now. After two top 1000 finishes, it's been a disappointing season. I hate to think how much worse it could have been without 2 trades a week!

Ranking: 24k
Uniques: Matty Stokes from R5, Scooter Selwood from R6, Brandon Ellis from R8, Kieran Jack from R9.
Best Trade: Karnezis -> JJK R3, Hoff -> SJ R7, Dixon -> Ellis R8
Worst Trade: Harry Taylor -> Dixon R3, Taylor proceeded to ton up in the following 3 games, has a healthy 85 avg and would be a great unique, Dixon got injured and eventually traded him to Ellis
Never again: Zorko, Varcoe, Daw
Studs: From R1 GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Goddard, Birchall (til R6) Scooter from R6, Ellis from R8
Duds: Franklin, Birchall (from R6), Dixon
Missed the boat: M.Jones, Macaffer, Wingard, Tom Lynch, Dwyer
Vent/Discuss: With the 2 trades per week this year, I feel DT is getting a bit stale for me with the amount of teams that have 15+ players the same, I am now actively trying to pick some uniques for a point of difference for the remainder of the season to keep it fun :thumbsu:
Rate Yourself: 5/10

Ranking: 3k (2nd year player :thumbsu: )
Uniques: Think my team is very run-of-the-mill.
Best Trade: Thommo to Barlow Round 2
Worst Trade: One involving J Lonergan, and when he had his 1st price rise already too... worst of all could've had Cachia #brainfade #FMDT
Heath to Hartlett was p*ss as well.
Never again: Ditto Port players esp. Hartlett
Studs: Easier to list the duds
Duds: Pittard, J Watson, Crouch
Missed the boat: Jones, Laird, Dwyer (to an extent, traded him out too early), Cachia
Vent/Discuss: Just pissed at my two worst trades... I'm a paranoid rookie-getter so haven't really upgraded as much as I should have
Rate Yourself: 7/10. Great ranking (despite lack of premos), but screwed for Round 13 bye, and need to start upgrading soon.

Ranking: 11k
Uniques: O'Keefe, N.Roo,
Best Trade: Pittard to Ellis (Round 6)
Worst Trade: S.Thompson (Adel) to D.Pearce
Never again: Port Adelaide Rookies.
Studs: GAJ, Swan, Scooter, Jack, Goddard, Hepp, Cox, SJ, Goodes, Vlas, Ellis
Duds: Karnezis, Rampe, Currie.
Missed the boat: Wines, Jones, Laird, Cachia
Vent/Discuss: Only realy annoyed at missing the boat on Wines but has been a good season (So far)
Rate Yourself: 6/10

Ranking: 16k
Uniques: Mundy, Stokes, Lewis, Shaw (if it's <10% we're going by)
Best Trades: Lecras > JJK, Dixon > Malceski
Worst Trades: Lewis > Westhoff, Westhoff > Thomas. That could not have ended any worse and I ended up getting Jordan Lewis back last week
Never again: Chris Yarran, Jasper Pittard, Patrick Karnezis. Any Brisbane or Port rookies.
Studs: Goddard, Birchall's first 4 rounds, Vlastuin, Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Jaeger, Mundy, Stokes, Cox, Kennedy, Terlich.
Duds: Neade, Yarran, Karnezis, Murphy, Birchall from round 5. The list goes on.
Missed the boat: Wines, Laird, Riewoldt, Dwyer, Macaffer, Ellis, Wingard
Vent/Discuss: Started well, was ranked 500 odd after the first round and 800 or so after four rounds. But then I went to shit because I went for too many rookies from about round 6/7 instead of upgrading. Leaves me with a partially completed side. Still, I've got some good trades this week and am backing myself to hopefully crack the top 5k and top 4 in all leagues. Top 1000 would be ideal but probably unlikely at this stage. Haven't cracked 2000 in 7 weeks but I'm aiming to not get below 2000 for the remainder of the season :p
Rate Yourself: 5/10

Why is everyone so annoyed at Port Adelaide rookies? Heath, Stevenson and Neade all made it to 250k or thereabouts, what more do you want from a rookie?

That is true. I think part of it though is the fact that there are so many playing rookies from Port and Brisbane. Stevenson/Colquhoun/Heath/Pittard (rookie priced) were all competing for basically one or two spots and while they all played it was always a gamble guessing who would get a game and who wouldn't, especially if you don't support Port.

Ranking: 19k
Uniques: Joel Selwood
Best Trade: Wines 370k ---> Bartel 453k (round 7). Sold Wines at his highest price, and got Bartel at his lowest price this season.
Worst Trade: Gibbs --> Scotland. Could have brought in Vlaustin, who i missed the boat. Cost me about 100-150 points and about 500k, considering the cash i would have made instantly from trading Vlaustin in when he was ~150k, his subsequent 250k price rise, and Scotland dropping 120k. Probably lost about 5,000 ranking points as a rough estimate.
Never again: Joel Selwood, Scotland, any out of contract big name player (Cloke 2012, Franklin 2013).
Studs: GAJ, Pendles, Goddard, O'Meara, Macaffer, Goodes, Terlich, Wines
Duds: Karnesis, Currie, Waters, Viney, Neade, Fyfe, Scotland, Cotchin, Maric, Jelwood, Birchall, Franklin, Hanley (players italisized i started with).
Missed the boat: Vlaustin, M.Jones, Laird, Cachia, Ellis, Leuenberger, Barlow, SJ, Thomas.
Vent/Discuss: Almost every premo that ive traded in, has turned to shit straight away (Birchall, Joel Selwood, Hanley, Scotland, Stanton). Not only do you lose about 150-300 points per round with underperforming premo's, but you lose about 500k in cash to boot. Only succesful premo's ive traded in have been Bartel, with possibly Mitchell. Annoyed i missed Heppell, Vlaustin, SJ, and Westhoffs start. About the only 2 duds i missed this season were Hartlett and Waters. Nailed the rest of them...
Rate Yourself: 3/10

How did so many people miss Matt Jones?

I took Kane Mitchell ahead of Matt Jones because I thought Jones was too much of a sub risk. What an inspired decision that turned out to be

How did so many people miss Matt Jones?
There were a fair amount of mid rookies to choose from at the start of the season. Most people didn't want to stack their midfield with rookies and subsequently had to choose who they wanted therefore missing out on particular rookies. Most people opted for viney over jones which is understandable

But still even after that, I have no idea how he was overlooked by so many. I had six non-rookies in my mids, selected viney and still got Jones in..

dwyer was on the bubble the same week as matt jones, so a lot of of us only got one of them in, not both. few people had both in their starting sides. moloney and jjk were also both on the bubble after looking better than expected to start the season, and leuey was back in the brisbane team. was one of those weeks where there weren't enough trades, much like this past weekend where many ppl passed on one of either nicholls or martin.
