Here are some ideas to counter act the strong Crows midfield :
- Byron on Mcleod - Try outrunning him! Although ability to outrun game in middle may be a little concern, Byron has speed strength and evry other facet to worry McLeod. Lets make him accountable for someone, it will put pressure on him to be accountable. Also, his skills are suspect at time during kicking, so the thought of Byron behind him will add that little bit more pressure.
- Simpson on Ricciuto - Pretty standard reasons, does a good job when under pressure and can match the Roo for marking strength.
- Grant and Goodwin - Both rack the possessions up and may go against each other. The need for the Roos to man up ther above two and the Crows need to man Harvey will see those three match ups as determining centre square combos. I would be happy with both Grant and Simmo sharing responsibilities at times for either Ricciuto or Goodwin.
- Stenglein on Harvey - If he isn't still seeing stars, he will pick up Harvey. Just a run with role, maybe even Goodwin if they feel like being defensive.
OTHERS:
- Motlop could take McLeod when going forward. This gives Byron a break and the chance to do damage in the forward line.
- King is another that could take either 3 of the Crows main guys. Probably form half back or on the wing.
- Rawlings is my last option for a run with role. I would probably let him run with one of the Crows lesser known wingman, but could be used in bursts on the top 3.
Overall, we could have a fairly good combo in the middle. McLeod is the main one to target I think.
I will look at the forward line tomorrow, where ex-Roos take on legendary Roos and a debutant may hold the key when Byron is away.

It will be called "Why the hell was McLeod allowed to get 60 possessions in a game?"
