How will you structure your midfield?

Simpkin is much more chance of consistent games than Anderson. Anderson is obviously light and has looked a little bit hesitant to me. Simpkin can step straight and not necessarily just as a fringe player either.
Both are depth players IMO and will only see game time if there is a couple of injuries.

I changed my mid structure. I've down graded Siposs to Varcoe, and Cox to Jacobs. The excess cash gave me enough to upgrade Moloney to Boyd.
I read somewhere on the WC thread that Lycetts WAFL club was told he would be unavailable for the first half of the year, and given Lycetts NAB cup form, it could be possible that Cox will still be used sparingly in the ruck.

I have no doubt I will be proven wrong, but he has to drop off at some point . And if I choose to believe it is this year, I can bring Boyd into my team and start with 5 super premiums in my midfield. :p

l'm running 7 premiums and 3 rookies. Mitchell , Couch, Viney...
Naturally these are subject to change .

Lots of mid-pricers elsewhere then? How's the forward line looking?

Sitting at the moment with 3 Premiums & 7 rookies and I'm more than happy with what I have come up with, means no holes elsewhere so don't have the dramas of becoming a donut shop, plus I'm going to be gaining the value to upgrade off my midfield rookies. That's where you make your money boys and girls! I can't see any sides having any more than 4 premiums in the midfield being capable of not having a massive leaking hole in their side somewhere else!

you think wrong - very wrong, see how many defensive rookies there are to choose from, and if your really brave (which I'm not) there are a swag of mid-priced fwds you can choose from - could easily see teams running with two 500K+ fwds + 5 mid priced fwds - would be a gutsy move but it certainly can be done

See i don't see any super value for rookie defenders, yeah there will be a few playing, but of what value and what sort of impact are you expecting these guys to have. Even a Vlastuin (i rate him as a good option despite what I am about to write!) who looks a monty to be playing for the tigers early, has that big question mark over him of a vest special early on! By the time he sees major game time and major price increases on his horizon he may already be needing inflated numbers to gain major coin! Just the way I read into things. Then again he might just as easily be in the starting 22 and will rise like all the others. I can't name many good options as far as defensive rookies who are gonna get you decent points consistently, there are several in the midfield who are much more capable so why not make the most of that?

As for the mid priced forward line planning, i think its a risk against reward, sure you might get 2 or 3 right but that 1 or 2 you get wrong will just about undo all that hard work because there will be no gain and poor output. If they are getting 50 or 60 it will nullify any advantage of the premium midfield you pay top dollar for! Too much risk for the reward in my books. Just my opinion on things though.

Currently 5 prem, 1 on the verge of prem & 4 rookies.

Forward lines just average > Zorko, Lynch, Hansen, J. Cameron, S.Kerridge, J. Daniher. Bench: T. Lee, M. Spanger.....l'll see how things are going in the first few rounds and maybe do some switches. l'm hoping 1 of these might be a cash cow which would help.

That's a disgrace...get out of here!

But seriously.......Well, I don't know where to begin. Why don't you try squeezing Michael Osbourne or Sentanta Ohailpin in to really free up cash for other areas.

Cmon Kleenex - its just a bit of fun, seriously J.Cameron is an ok pick, Kerridge, Danaher , Lee & Spagher all unlikely to play early. Q Lynch not going to score well.

Sorry, but the advice is in the context of my reply so I guess what I'm implying is you need to completely rethink yr Fwd line. Zorko is yr best fwd and he's questionable in some respect.

It's not just you but so many people "most likely" will be burnt by forwards and rucks this year. IMO there are no cash cows under $200k for forwards you could comfortably start or even bench, but hey, I don't follow fantasy footy that much!

Just wondering, how many people have changed there structure based on what has happened with the lack of bargain rucks and the Leuenberger issue. Are many people going to have a go at the 2 premium rucks at the expense of a midfielder hence changing your structure or are you going to try and gamble and find a diamond in the rough like Maric last season so you can maintain the midfield you have set up?

I've lost Fyfe for Wines and got 2 premo rucks (McEvoy + Jacobs) instead of Goldy and Luey. Only 1 forward rookie to worry about.

2 premo rucks (always have had) - added a 3rd to the fwd line as well
