No Griff yet.
The Top 5-10 to be announced tonight. Griffen would have to be in this bracket?
Or will he be top 5?

So far;
Libba #31 (amazing turnaround from October last year)
Minson #37 (AA ruck-man and dominated hit outs should be top 25)
Murphy #45 (Dr. Smooth)

Good effort to finish bottom 4 and have 4 players in the Top 50 in the comp. :thumbsu:

I have a feeling Griff will come in at number 2 or 3. It was only our lack of wins which didn't see him poll higher in the brownlow. Lots of experts rated him as the second best player behind gazza this year based on performances.

One could also interpret that as too much from too few. How many players would rank in the 50-100 bracket ?

I agree he could be top 5, Mike always puts kicking goals higher on the list. He mentions it every time a player drops down the order.
This year Goal kickers he'll like would be
Ablett
Selwood
Swan
Pendelbury
etc.

GWS, Melb and Saints didn't have many players in Top 50. The Top 6 sides have the most.
This year we'd have 2 or more in the 50-100 range (Dahl, Cooney, Morris?)

Fair point, but all those players also played most games for us. I would think Morris would be in the 50-100 bracket, possibly Boyd, the media loves him and ignores his failings, maybe Roughy with a long bow. but the rest were in and out of the team as we tried various things, so had purple patches (ala Wallis) but didn't get the continuity.

Averages would suggest a 3 per 50 (50/18) is a fair result, so 5 from 50 is sensational. 7/100 pulls us back to marginally above the norm. Considering the roller coaster form, and the blooding of so many newbies, yeah, a great result.

Griff a monty for top 5.

His list was even looking pretty good... But then he decided Steve Motlop had a better year than Steve Johnson.
Agree. Thought Stevie J should have won the Brownlow except for missing games though being rubbed out. He had a top 15 year this year (pick 21 too high).

In my opinion Ablett clearly number one, then you could make a case for any of Griff, Pendlebury, Selwood, Jack & Mitchell to fill the next spots in any order.

I rate Ablett.. However IMO a lot of his game is overrated. Just look how he picks up 40-50% of his possessions... handpasses and kicks to mate on the backline who pass it back, far from influential on the outcome of the game
