And what's happened to that next Games? GONE.

As for the aerials, my main beef is thet I don't think it makes any sense to have a mixed team event with an odd number of legs for each sex (where teams can choose the split) where each score or time counts to the final standing. Simple.
Seems like breakdancing’s papers were stamped before the Paris Olympics even began. Which makes me wonder why it was held as a medal event at all.

Makes it so unbalanced. The teams with more females have to rely on the others to fall to finish above them.
Having the gender composition open, is to allow more nations to participate, which indicates that there aren’t enough competitive nations and it’s a bit of a farce.

If they want more events would mind seeing them try it backwards. Too much freestyle skiing. Need some backstroke

I was going to post earlier in the week that I was doing some wiki searching and was surprised to read that Denmark had only ever won one bronze. Just added a silver in the mass start.

Was also a bit surprised that Spain had also only won one gold, given they have the Pyrenees and proximity to the rest of Europe. Just puts into perspective how well Australia do at the Winter games.
For the Tokyo Olympics I looked at the Denmark at the Olympics wiki page, and was shocked they only had 1 winter Olympics medal and their best summer games was 1948 when they won 5 gold and 20 medals at that games and have only won double digit medals once, since then.

1948 was the start of sailing's Paul Elvstrom's 4 gold in a row in the same event. When I was a kid his effort and US's discuss thrower Al Oerter's 1956-68, 4 in a row stood out like beacons on the list of gold medallist.

Sailing is Denmark's most success Olympic sport, which makes sense given they are a nation of many islands. Its the King's sport. It's part of the reason why he was at the Sydney Olympics and therefore got to meet Mary.

I asked an old girlfriend who married a Danish guy about 5 years ago and lives there, during the Beijing Winter Olympics, why the Danes are so poor at winter sports and she said their isn't much interest at the elite level. She said they like playing indoor sports in winter and that soccer is big despite the cold winters. Denmark is a very flat country so that might be why skiing isn't that popular there. Plus their government just doesn't invest in sports programs like the rest of Europe do.

Subtle flex that you dated Mary
Haha.

My old girl friend was living in Sydney in 2000, she is a classic global citizen, speaks 9 or 10 languages, and knew someone who was a friend of Mary and that person was at the dinner at the Slip Inn where they met at a function. The myth is that Fredrick met her casually at the bar, but it was a lot more formal introduction than that. But the media doesn't want the facts to get in the way of a good story.

Six Degrees of RussellEbertHandball.

Any news about the weather at the half pipe venue?
Was kind of risky having it scheduled so late in the Olympics to begin with
It seems to be a constant at the both summer and winter games that they have some events late in the program that will be affected by weather. Nearly every games there is an event under threat of not finishing properly.

Sydney was canoeing on the last Sunday. I went out to Penrith for a 9am start, but the head winds were so bad they kept delaying and delaying it and they eventually started at 3pm and the wind was just as bad as any time in the day. Just made it back to about 600m from my house by about 5 minutes to watch the men's marathon runners. I was living at Concord and I stood at about the 37km mark. The marathon is always the last event,

1/2 pipe is on next according to 9.

Her and the younger brother have weird accents. Doesn't sound like they've spent much time in australia
Captain Underpants said they train together, eight months a year, going to assume in the states. They’re at that impressionable age where they pick up everything.

I went to school with a girl, who did a six month student exchange to America in grade 12. She still has an American accent, thirty years later FFS.

There's kids in Australia that have never been to America that have an American accent .

Too much screen time at a young age.

On the flip side, there's American kids spitting out Aussie slang due to Bluey.

Wonder if she'd get a medal if she upped the DOD and landed on her face lol

Not in this event. Need to get the air over 3.6m then your tricks off it, backside/cork/frontside and variations. The gold likely between Eileen and the current leader. Love the Canadian as a character though

Bit random but this skiing commentator Miff Rennie sounds like Pip Rasmussen if anyone knows who that is lol
