Probably the frist article I've seen that spells out how we're going to take the first steps to taking the club to the next level. Looks like Miller's and a few others are gone unless we make the finals and maybe even if we do.:thumbsu: (c'mon my name sake!)

Would also explain the rumours of a big off field name coming to Tiger land.

Also what are the thoughts on the statement that we won't be significantly better once the veterans retire? Don't agree personally, think that the kids are more talented now than than have been for a long time and will improve together. Obviously hard to improve on richo and browny at their best, but thats about it.

The 'view' (who's is this anyway) doesn't take into account that we are building a midfield unit that looks like will be as good as any in the comp in three years, and a defence, if Rance develops to expectations, that is also very strong. The forward line is probably the biggest doubt, but there have been some promising signs recently.

If we recruit well in the next couple of years (key forwards are the key imo), and can attract a big name to manage the football dept, a job that is actually looking attractive for the first time in 25 years, think we might actually looking at a period of sustained success.... let the sleeping giant awake, bwahahahahahaha

Well written article, although I disagree with the last two paragraphs slightly. I think the only comparisons between our side now, and the side Terry took over, is the position non the ladder. And dare I say, a 9th now, would be a hel of a lot better than a 9th in 2006.

If the "learning about the department" puts pressure on absolutely everyone in the club to perform, and it also results in a few heads rolling, then so be it. If it results in Lambert, or Buckley, or another big name replacing Royal or McRae, then so be it.

The one thing we can all be confident in, is that Free will be recommending the best path forward for the Richmond Football Club, and for that, I am very, very, happy.

To be a success at anything in life , whether it be in football or any form of business or venture .....

"You must have the correct structure in place"

Probably the biggest criticism of the on-field development at Punt rd. over the last three or four years is the percieved lack of accountability afforded both Wallace and Miller ... whatever they have said has gone . Pure and simple .

What Tony Free is doing is a breath of fresh air and after nearly four years of this regime its time we took stock and evaluated exactly what we are doing.

Freezer may well walk back into the board room after he has familiarised himself with all the goings on and give the big thumbs up ... and i will have no problem with that , the point is its a process of leaving no stone unturned and this can only benefit our club

If a f..kwit like Mike Sheahan takes umbridge at that then there is no better example of why his vocation in life is nothing more than writing semi-fiction in a tabloid newspaper that is based on nothing more than attracting the greater chunk of readership (simpletons) to appease its advertisers at the expense of relevent and interesting journalism

Freeza has an agenda.
Hope it's for the betterment of the club and not because he doesn't like a bloke ;)

Refresh my memory Froarsy

Am i correct in saying that Freezer had a pretty public falling out with Miller a few years back ???
Even if he did IDY, March and Wright run a tighter ship than than to let Free run around at the club on a vendetta.

the last two paragraphs show the journalist up as completely ingorant. to say we are no better placed than at the start of terrys tenure is complete and utter bollocks!

i think it is a good thing
if freezer doesnt think a couple of wallaces assitants are not good enough for the job then they should be gone
wallace cant just keep them on because they are his mates
its about our footy club

if lambert and sumich are much more appropriate for our club then royal and armstrong or whoever than freezer should get rid of the deadwood

and someone else said it that march wouldnt let free run around having a vendetta against wallace if he too didnt agree with free's assesment

I don't rate the comments in the article re Freezer much. No quotes from him and quotes from March to the contrary. Would agree that Tony is loking at the department he is now in charge of in detail. He would be a stupid manager if he didn't.

It is March and co that are doing the review and thats good. Looking forward to the results.

The other good news is we are getting MORE development firepower one way or another. With the chance of McCrae going north we need to have barrels loaded and if it is in the guise of a helping hand for him that turns into a replacement, then again good.

On top of that another assistant coach as well.

Trade period could also be the final exam for Miller too - get us something good for cheap or your gone - is what I read in between the lines.

I like it - Tigers getting some grunt back - but with a measured management approach, we'll be bigger than ever:thumbsu:

Love Tony, but he's hardly been around a successful club to be doing a review of a club's footy department.
Don't mind him being there (yet lol), but I would have much preferred to see someone who's been at a successful club and one that's been successful for a number of years, who knows what it takes to develop a successful club on field.

Lambert's been around a successful club, and he may well be a good choice, but it smacks of cronyism a bit and I hope if he's chosen he is successful, otherwise the above criticisms will be made methinks.

Yeah like there's no cronyism there at the moment. Royal and Rawlings never did anything in football either.

Lambert at least has been learning from one of the all time best premiership coaches

Interesting the approach to Lambert, that would make sense now that Freezer has a connection as they are mates. It does seem odd to me that the coaching dept would face upheavel with a year to run on the senior coaches contract. Generally a new coach likes to surround themselves with a fresh team...we could have the situation post 2009 with TW in the gun with 2-3 asst coaches in the seat for 12 months:confused:

Just listening to MMM and they had Chris Jones from Channel 9 and he said that Miller has left town and won't be at the Tiges game tonight. He said that March (it is March isn't it?) had tried to get in touch with Miller to talk to him face to face but hasn't been able to reach him. Jones then went on to report that he hadn't officially been sacked but isn't expected to return to the club.

Just thought I'd post that incase some of you Tiges fans didn't catch it on the radio.

Half time report on 10 also states that he and Richmond have parted company.

lol at Maher for reporting this as turmoil  Fkckn drama queen

About time they gave him the arse...Best known for getting Wayne Carey to North Melbourne...hasn't done anything great since that.
