Let's kep this in prespective for a second - I never expected your blokes to aggree - cause your Carlton supporters!

Richmond made a late play for Chris Judd, how I found out - was phone calls from my Carlton mates - swearing and carrying on like pork chops. Greg Miller came out in the press to let the fans know he made a play for Judd - but the WCE shit themselves because they thought if Judd did refuse to play for Richmond (which was never said) WCE might get nothing.

It was all mind games - now my Carlton mates, whom are very informed, and I would never post anything they tell me in confidence at the time, but now I can say - is that If WCE took that offer seroiusly and went to Carlton, saying you guys need to beat this, as we are going to acept it - Plan B for the Blues was pick 1 - and they were going to use it, I was told, as a last minute resort - but it was never needed.

This is what draft week is all about.

Let me put it this way - If you guys could shaft Collingwood, by offering more for a player that thy really want, by them having to give up higher draft picks - you guys would be all congratulating each other and giving high 5's cause you made the pies give up more then they had to.... IRONY!

I dont' think the point is what Miller did in trade week at all. The point is what he was doing in the months before when it became apparent that Judd was coming back to Melb....he didn't even succeed in getting Judd to meet with your club. You are right though, Greg Miller is generally well respected. But with all the cr@p we heard during trade week between Miller and Senile Bartlett we are having some fun digging the boot in

Greg Miller was forced by public pressure from SEN and KB in particular to waste his time all week playing games with WCE, hence the statement to appease Tiges fans this week that "we really did try".

While this was going on you missed Schneider and Dempster for pick 19 (assume they would have done this instead of 26), and you missed King, a ruckman.......YOU NEED A RUCKMAN!!!

Instead you got McMahon, and Morton. Two guys struggling to get games at their clubs.

Miller is NOT respected by any club, even your own, but he is so deeply dug in it will be hard to get him out.

He should be more concerned about how the heck he has offered up a top 20 draft pick for the softest player in the AFL!

Watching and listening to that press conference today just confirmed to me what an imposter Miller is. How hard is it to understand that it didn't matter what they offered the Eagles for a trade, Judd needed to agree to it. The Eagles agreed to deal with us because they were worried that Judd would slip into the PSD and they would get nothing. Is it any wonder Juddy didn't even agree to meet Ninthmond.

Right on J.....he is a fat hack with no clue on recruting as his track record demonstrates. For Richmond to move forward it is mandatory they remove him!!!!!

There was no way Judd could nominate Richmond. The power of PSD pick 1 was too great. Judd - as much as I think he's a money-hungry scumbag mercenary (cue posts of "bitter much?") - could never allow Richmond to be part of the negotiations, could never state any preference for coming to the Tigers, because it would have hamstrung West Coast. If he had, Richmond would've offered something to West Coast that is FAR below what Judd is worth, because Richmond knew should West Coast turn it down, he'd come to Richmond for free. He wasn't going to do that to West Coast. Despite the fact Carlton payed far less than what he's worth anyway...

As for Miller saying what he is...I don't have a problem with it. If anything, he's highlighting how well the current draft system works. Players get to the clubs they want to go to, despite better offers to the contrary. McMahon, regardless of his quality or what was paid for him, is similar in that he nominated the Tigers and a deal was done, rather than him heading to Port (even though I don't know what Port offered). He's a headline seeker, that's for sure. But people are using their previous biases to judge his actions, it would seem.

Now all that remains is for Bee to dissect this post and work out if it meets the opposition supporters posting guidelines...

It had nothing to do with "the power of the PSD" , but everything to do with Millers incompetence and inability to get Judd to even remotely consider going to your basket case of a club. IF Judd wanted to go to the Tiges, the Tiges would have got him with pick #2 and their two 2nd round picks. In fact the Weagles even said they would have preferred to deal with the Tiges. But they couldn't because Judd did not nominate them. Miller well and truely stuffed up the biggest trade in recent AFL history. The Dees, Dons, and Pies at least got on Judd's short-list, and were being considered if the Blues deal fell over. Judd refused to have anything to do with the Tiges from day 1, and THIS is the reason you missed Judd. despite having the edge with draft picks. What a complete disaster. How many more Miller stuffups can the Tiges endure. lol.

That would be a complete disaster. There were several "potential" ruck candidates during trade week - Wood (the best of them), Blake, Jolly and King. Miller missed all 4. Blake and Jolly re-signed rather than risk falling to the Tiges in the PSD. The Cats were generous and gave the Saints pick 90, so King could go to the Saints and avoid the Tiges. Richards is an absolute shocker. I almost feel sorry for the Tiges, with this guy just continually wrecking their list.

Richmond getting the wooden spoon is very bad for trade week as it discourages players from seeking trades to other clubs, for fear that they could fall to Richmond in the PSD.

We have done our time there, for the greater good of the competition and player movement of course, now its time for another team to step up to the plate.

If Richmond become the perennial wooden spoon side it will set the whole trade and draft system back decades!
