I am probably the only person on Earth who hasn't played Minecraft at all yet, so want to ask, is the PS4 version good? Or am I better off getting the PC version? Is it always online, as in if I'm building in my world can anyone just join my world?

PS4 feels the same as the PC version to me. Console versions have the advantage of the crafting recipes being built in already so there's no looking on a wiki to work out how to craft something, just a matter of having the required items and clicking on what you want to make.

You can set it so no one can join your game, or they can only join if you invite them. For the more extreme cases you can switch off the trust players option and they wont be able to build or destroy anything in your world. Can also be played offline.

Basically what I need now: travel 500m on a minecart, get 3 more wolves, get an ocelot, 2 the end trophies, make a nether portal and an enchantment table, cure a zombie, get 30 emeralds, play for 100 days, deal nine hearts of damage and find 17 biomes.
