Going back to the OP I agree with the following

Trade or delist Masten, Redden and maybe even Darling (there's some value there) for a start. Retire Priddis and Butler. Gaff and Darling I can't agree 100% on.

ON NOTICE is LeCras, not a genuine crumbing forward. Need to get one of him, Cripps or Hill permanently at the feet of JK and or making space if there opponent is going and double teaming JK. I'd put Hill on notice as well. Far to inconsistent for my linking.

Duggan hasn't come on as I'd anticipated either and there could be value from a Victorian club.

Same should apply to Partington. The Wafl watchers say he lacks impact. But at least he is finding the ball and can kick a goal. He would be no worse than Masten if he took his place and could play his role. But at least he is young and has potential and probably some hunger to succeed.

I wouldnt let him go. He needs a solid run in the side like Nelson and Sheed. He will be a very good players he just needs time in the side.

I wasn't too keen on Waterman, played as a tall in colts but no where near tall enough to do that at AFL. Not sure if he can change to a Hill or LeCras type forward which he will have to be.

That's if he gets back on the track, I've heard his injury is very serious.

I want him to change to a Mitch McGovern / Midfielder. He himself has stated midfield is the goal.

We do not have the mids and runners to win a GF. This will take some time to develop.
LeCras, Priddis, McKenzie, Schofield and Kennedy (plus the obvious others) will be past it before we develop the required mids. We should selectively move them on to allow space and cap to develop what as list that will can win a GF. This is the simple maths.
A few others are confirmed non combatants and must be traded out for what its worth. If you watched the 16 GF you would have no doubt that this season is just confirmation.

Coaching and club management is a Perth problem that will take outstanding leadership to overcome the nepotism and amaturism.

That's not true, this is from 2011 draft onwards up until a couple of weeks ago.There are plenty of guys from most teams that have come on well. In that time we've given Hutchings quite a few games and that's about it.

I was referring to the last 3 years not back to 2011. Going back that far you get the influence of the new teams with their armchair ride and also the fact that we tried to recruit some pace into the side for the midfield and that skews it a bit. As we had very few reasonable picks it is no surprise we bombed out a bit earlier than most. I had a cursory look at the figures as well but it seemed to me that there were surprisingly few player in that time to play a lot of games.
