no, remember discussing it with mates at the time, ofcourse I was not on the field, so what he said is only known by the players. Disgraceful if he did.
I'm pretty sure you're incorrect. What GoalSneak38 said is similar to what I said in my previous post to what he said years ago. I'm pretty confident im remembering correctly.

No one really knows what happened yesterday so it's impossible to comment. The Cornes comment is obviously a shit thing to do but he apologised and it's been 5 years. A lot of players do shit things in the heat of the game (punches, elbows, eye-gouging etc.) that would be indefensible outside of the match situation. It shouldn't be condoned but it's not exactly uncommon.

As I said, what was said is only known by the players. Kane was upset at the time, so Minson clearly hit a nerve

Am I the only one who thinks that neither Sarwan nor McGrath were out of line in that incident?

McGrath's sledge wasn't homophobic.
Sarwan didn't know about McGrath's wife's condition, and it wasn't personal about Jane McGrath, it didn't imply rape or sexual assualt - it was just a generic sledge. Had Sarwan known, he would've been completely out of line, and an absolutely shit bloke - but he didn't.
McGrath's reaction was understandable because of what his wife was going through. It doesn't make him a bully or unable to handle a return of serve, because he wouldn't have reacted that way had she not had cancer.

Is there some ridiculous irony in all the condemnation of Minson that posters & tweeters (Lucy Cornes I am looking at you) are serving at Minson that they are using the same abusive, disrespectful & personalised attacks that they are accusing him of?
For what it is worth, if Minson has personally insulted Pearce or his family it is not o'kay and the AFL should fine or suspend him, especially after he already overstepped the line with the Cornes comment. Minson and all AFL players should know better. However I'll wait for the AFL investigation rather than rely on trial by twitter.

No one give a .... what Lucy has to say. Boo hoo, what a baby, mother jokes are made up from way back in primary school, Port adelaide need to man up if they can't take a little sledging. if they think big will is good on the lip wait until they play cats next, put Stevie J straight on Pearce.

Depending on what was said, Minson might be facing a week off after the precedent they set last year with the McGinnity-Petterd situation

Not necessarily, west coast set that as they suspended McGinnity.

Mrs Cornes needs to be very very very careful. she is now fair game as far as i'm concerned.
want to get involved, that's ok, be prepared to cop coming the other way. so if minson says anything about her now, that's all good.

this in no way absolves minson if he crossed the line.

but Lucy STFU

Let loose with a few combos, worked for Dez on Selwood and he didnt get in
any trouble, so the AFL is happy for it to be sorted the right way.

Cornes needs to keep his missis in check and Minson needs to pull his head in.

So what I am gleaning from this thread is that you can say what you like on the field but you can't tweet what you like?

I am sure Minson doesn't care what Lucy Cornes says and from my point of view, she can say what she likes.

McGrath is a tool for sooking and losing his marbles. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with either sledge. My point was that if McGrath is going to instigate, prepare for return of serve. Sarwan did it beautifully.

That was a pretty sensitive issue mate. His wife was riddled with cancer but in saying that Sarwan didn't know

Very true. But she's now just made a facebook status saying that people have been calling her an attention whore and that she's a strong independant woman blah blah blah. She needs to butt out and shut up. I used to think she was okay because she's been critical of WAG's getting in the way and making everything about them in the past, but now she's come out with this and confirmed she's just another typical look at me WAG.

Minson is proving himself to have plenty of academic intelligence, but very little emotional intelligence, at least in the heat of battle anyway.

He's not the genius he's talked up to be. A lot of it is self-generated - like his reputation for being fluent in German. Did you hear his effort on the Game Plan last week? They asked him to say something in German and it was the most simplistic sentence possible. He isn't fluent in German at all. He's a bit too interested in how intelligent he looks. He's not dumb and he's pretty funny in terms of off the cuff remarks, but he should just lay off the talk and let his actions do the talking.

As I said, what was said is only known by the players. Kane was upset at the time, so Minson clearly hit a nerve

its well known that Minson said to Cornes something like 'shouldnt you be home instead looking after your sick son'

Utter crap this is the sort of shit that highlights how pissweak the world is.

Used to be you'd say something to a bloke on the field and you get it right back. once in a while someone would say something and it would taken the wrong way, it would blow up a bit but the message would get around don't go there with this bloke

It would usually end the next time they line each other an apology quickly followed up with a different sort of insult.

Yep, looks like tweeting should be punishable by hanging!

Has anyone ready her facebook page?

"Please give up a round of applause (to me). I showed incredible restraint for a total of 6 hours, didn't bag Will Minson once, well shit just changed. I. Can't. Stand. You and I'm a lover not a hater so that says A LOT."

Followed by 70 odd people commenting on how Minson is ugly, how much they hate him, even one guy saying "this is a personal matter now, he has me to deal with" Chad & Kane commenting as well.
