I took a photo of the article I saw today which I'll try to post. Knife wounds plus ciggy packet plus Jim Beam can being centre to the appeal.
So they should seeing the SES experts found no trace of them but two normal officers found both while walking through the exact same areas. The whole thing reeks of getting framed. A good thing our prisons are not like America's for this case. The Central Park 5 sping to mind every time there's a case like this but their suffering was so much worse.

Henry Keogh hoping to move on after compensation payment

BY ISABEL DAYMAN

"The Supreme Court found the original case against Mr Keogh had been tainted by the unreliable and misleading evidence given by South Australia's then-chief forensic pathologist, Dr Colin Manock."

In addition to this Manock and Elliott Johnstone were a part of putting away David Szach for murdering Derrance Stevenson and stuffing him in a freezer in Adelaide.

To clarify

Manock was the forensic officer that gave a Time of Death that allowed for officers to place Szach within the area ie Szach with this TOD had the opportunity

Johnston had NO part in putting Szach away. This is Hyperbole on your part

Johnston was in fact Szachs defence lawyer. That Johnston admitted to his biographer that he felt Szach was guilty did not mean Johnston didnt try the case as best he could. No findings or doubts over Johnstons work were ever brought up

The TOD swayed everything that followed from the jury to the police searching for other suspects

No findings or doubts over Manock's methods were brought up for what, 25 years before Dr Moles came along?

Interesting that Elliott Johnson took on the defence of a young guy, 19 at the time without obvious means to pay a QC who was appointed as Supreme Court Judge only four years later. How did he pay for Johnson's to represent him?

Dr Colin Manock who determined the time of death has Channel 7 Adelaide journalist Dr Graeme Archer calling his legacy "the forensic science scandal of the century", for cases of miscarriage of justice that resulted from his evidence.

I'm curious why the esteemed QC for Szach didn't challenge the now discredited forensic evidence for Szach or how the chiropractor, Mr Gamberdella who was initially charged with being an accessory to murder, because a witness saw his car at Stevenson's house the night he died had his charge dismissed and left Australia permanently, without protest from the defence QC?

I'm also curious living in Adelaide if you know any relatives of Elliott Johnson, Crow? He's part of a very large family. With his father and mother both having 13 or 14 siblings, I'd estimate he has 40 - 60 cousins floating around Adelaide and beyond.

Interesting that we have far better pictures on this thread of the table before the cigarette packet appeared the next day that in this article.

I hope the defence team had some just as good?

A state prosecutor told the court they would seek access to unedited footage of a Sunday Night television episode which examined the case this year.

The application by the prosecution to get access to the footage was not opposed by Austic's legal team in court.
Justice Robert Mazza granted the state leave on Tuesday to issue a summons to Channel 7 to produce or make available footage of the March 18 program."

If the knife was sitting there like that how could it possibly be missed by someone even casually glancing in its direction?

If the knife was sitting there like that how could it possibly be missed by someone even casually glancing in its direction?
and how did the SES people miss it...

Im not buying it either.

This article quotes what SES search team leader Stephen Parnham stated back in April 2018 regarding the knife and search.

WA Attorney-General to examine bid to overturn Scott Austic’s 2009 wilful murder conviction

"Stephen Parnham, 49, who lived in the small mining town in 2007 and was part of a co-ordinated forensic search for a knife believed to have killed teacher’s aide Stacey Thorne, said there was “no way” his team could have “missed” a blood-soaked knife later found in the area by an investigating detective."

“I just can’t believe it,” he told The Sunday Times this week.
“The knife was found on the exact same spot where dozens of us had been standing, coming and going, starting and finishing searches ... it was the muster area for all of us — the SES, police, for the forensics.”

"Nationally accredited in search techniques and experienced in forensic searches for murder investigations, the 20-year SES veteran said it “was just inconceivable that we would have missed such a big, bloody knife at our feet”.

Feerits Elf, you seem an expert on Utes. Have you seen anything like this in your travels?

Police from the Cold Case Homicide squad are chasing a fresh lead into the murder of Josh Warneke on the outskirts of Broome more than seven years ago.

They want to find the owner of a white Toyota '79 series Land Cruiser tray top ute that was seen not far from where Mr Warneke's body was found on Australia Day in 2010.

Police say the vehicle had a "Bundy" novelty number plate and car flag poles on either side of the frame behind the cab.

Acting Detective Superintendent Pete Branchi from the Special Crime Division said the Land Cruiser drove along Short Street into Old Broome Road around the time of the 21-year-olds' death in the early hours of January 26.

"Despite all the publicity about this case since 2010, the driver of the Land Cruiser has never come forward, " he said.

"We are appealing for public assistance to identify the vehicle, its driver and any other occupants."

WA Police announced in April this year they would begin a new investigation after the man jailed for killing Mr Warneke, Gene Gibson, walked free in April when the WA Court of Appeal overturned his conviction.

Superintendent Branchi says police believe the occupant or occupants of the Land Cruiser saw Mr Warneke on Old Broome Road around the time of his death.

"So it is very important we speak to the driver and any passengers of that vehicle, or anyone who has information about that vehicle and its occupants," he said.

"Their information, however insignificant it may seem to them, may help bring Josh's killer, or killers, to justice."

The State Government is offering a $250,000 reward for information about the murder.

Police say they will also recommend protection from prosecution, or a pardon in some circumstances, for anyone not directly involved in his death.

No mention of the Sue Neill-Fraser case here? It will be the next one to get blown wide open. Police framed her, the DPP framed her, and the idiot jury swallowed all the totally circumstantial evidence hook line and sinker because they were too stupid to think ciritically. Has received national coverage on 60 mins in March this year - someone came forward who witnessed the murder and it was not Sue Neill-Fraser. Appeal in May 2020.

Bottom image taken of table at Scott Austic house immediately after declared a crime scene and sealed.
Top image taken 30 hours later adding a cigarette packet with victims blood used to convict him.

1. Cigarette packet appears
2. Blue battery moved to infront of ashtray
3. Pink stubby holder standing up
4. White box moved away from wall
5. ?

I know it's nearly 2 years old but the ashtray has definitely been moved. Even though the two pics are from different angles, potentially making it deceptive, in the top pic the left side of it is sitting roughly half way across the flower, in the bottom pic you can see it's clearly covering all of the flower. It also looks like the left hand side is pushed further back than the right hand side, in the first pic it looks pretty much to run evenly with the front edge of the border.

In the bottom (original pic) the red lidded bottle (insect repellent?) is much closer to the edge of that centre border.

In the top pic, there is a bottle of something in front of the bottle of windex?, it has an obvious orange label, it's not the front edge of the bottle of windex. It is obscuring quite a bit of the windex bottle label, in the bottom pic with the box moved, the bottle is gone, you can basically see all of the label of the windex.

Something maybe trivial, but I was a smoker for 35 years, there was no way I would put a pack on the table like that with the opening facing away from me. If it was lying down, it was always with the part that opens facing up and if it was standing then always with the part that opens facing towards me. For that to be the case here, I'd be reaching from the far side of the table to grab a smoke which I wouldn't do either, they'd be as close to me as required.

Has received national coverage on 60 mins in March this year - someone came forward who witnessed the murder and it was not Sue Neill-Fraser. Appeal in May 2020.

Her appeal is going ahead on May 25, should be interesting.

The appeal hearing will initially focus on Neill-Fraser's argument that there is fresh and compelling evidence then-homeless 15-year-old Meaghan Vass boarded the Four Winds and that Mr Chappell was attacked while Ms Vass was on board.

Neill-Fraser's lawyer Paul Galbally said the court could then rule on that material — expected to take up to 10 days to be heard — before other grounds of appeal are argued, if necessary.

"The court can consider in relation to that particular matter and, if necessary, can proceed with the balance of the grounds," Mr Galbally said.

The court also heard Neill-Fraser's team is considering whether it will continue with a ground of appeal that argues the dinghy seen near the Four Winds about the time Mr Chappell was attacked was not the Four Winds' tender.

The remaining ground of appeal relates to evidence led by the prosecution at Neill-Fraser's 2010 trial. Her team says DNA and other testing, and the reconstruction of the winching of a body, was misleading.

"Almost 10 years to the day since the 21-year-old was found dead on the side of a Broome highway, the review concluded Mr Warneke suffered fatal head wounds from being struck by a car’s wheel, not from an “edged weapon” like an axe or tomahawk, as police initially believed."
