Not sure anyone really questioned his commitment regardless but Caleb Serong's just bought a $1.3 mil house in east freo...not bad for a third year player

Would you be happy if it wasn't called the Moorditj jumper, just our clash jumper instead?
In this case, yes. I think it's disrespectful with a small hidden design, added almost as if an afterthought.

We already nominated an away strip. Maybe they realisied purple away wasn't the way to go and using "Moorditj" as an excuse to bring back a mostly white alternative for a couple of games.

I agree with Gav again and think it's a good idea to integrate an Indigenous design as a type of watermark background for a white away strip.

Club has stated they want to have more purple in the away uniforms. The best way they could get more purple on the clash guernsey and it be accepted by the AFL was with a strip on the sides, and it was a nice little detail to add some indigenous flair to it. But some people just like to twist positives into negatives...

Absolutely spot on. I really can't see how this move can be taken as anything other than that.

So call it the alternate away jumper to the purple away jumper.

Moorditj Koort Aboriginal Corporation has a vision of a just and inclusive society in which all Aboriginal people are respected and valued for their culture, history and contribution to contemporary life.

If they really wanted to show respect and inclusivity in my opinion, the indigenous design could have "watermarked" through all of the white fabric in the jumper. It would actually represent the vision and be a far better representation of FFC valuing our Indigenous culture than what was presented.

I'd prefer that jumper to be used for most, or all away games.

Not sure what’s more shocking - that a third year player can buy a $1.3mil house or that there’s a $1.3mil house in East Fremantle. Surely it has river views or something.

Serong would be earning around $490-500k this year. Would be the highest paid third year player in the league having won the Nab rising star and then signed a contract extension.
He would have earned approx $200-220k per annum in his first 2 years. Might have some other endorsements coming in too.
Still decent going to already have a $1.3m house to his name though!

Even just on his first two years you'd think there's a level head in his camp who put 50%+ of that away. That salary along with the contract extension would mean banks would have climbed over each other to offer Sebba a big old mortgage. Smart move from the kid but he's earning more in a year than your average punter would in 5-10!

Congratulations to the 2020 NAB AFL Rising Star Caleb Serong from the Fremantle Football Club

Beginning in 1993, one player is nominated after each round of the season for the NAB AFL Rising Star Award. At the conclusion of the season, an expert panel selects the winner in a vote, who receives a $20,000 investment portfolio from NAB. We also arrange a dedicated financial planner to assist with their wealth creation strategy.

The Dale special?

It can work with any sponsor.

The asset bought by an investment trust in which the player and the third party are named trustees. Spud Shed/Hungry Jacks front $100,000 into the deal to own 30% of the trust asset/s - player pours in the rest to buy the million dollar asset. The player then attends events for a few years and the resolution to alter the trustees is signed by both parties removing the sponsor leaving the player with the asset and a financial instrument to further their empire.
