I had a similar experience on fathers days at the Broken Hill with all the Eagles team celebrating (no surprise as Yeo's parents own the pub). They were all in costumes and I note one was in a Dockers outfit (they just can't help themselves) sadly they were reasonably behaved!!
Yeah it all looked pretty chilled, no costumes apart from some wearing the same white shirts. Bit of yelling and carrying on at times. Bit surprised to see Sonny having a dart but I guess it's the off season and they can do what they like. They all left around 3:30pm or so

In a satisfying and heartwarming bit of news, just used my West Coast supporting partners name and email address to register his vote for Caleb Serong for Goal of the Year 🥰

Fremantle have axed WA recruiting manager Neil Ross after 12 years as the club’s main local talent scout.
Ross was understood to be blindsided by the decision which came after he completed his main draft presentation.
Ross replaced Phil Smart at Fremantle in 2009 after three seasons as Collingwood’s WA-based recruiter and several seasons as a development coach at West Coast.
He was the first recruiter employed full-time in WA by a Victorian club and was responsible for the drafting of eventual Collingwood premiership player Sharrod Wellingham.
Ross played reserves at Richmond, including the infamous Escort Cup match against an understrength Swan Districts team in 1982, but was prominent as a coach in the TAC Cup and VFA before joining the Eagles in 2005.
His departure comes as Fremantle prepare to bring in former Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy as head of football operations and performance for their AFL and AFLW teams.
The reshuffle of Fremantle’s personnel will see Joe Brierty become general manager of operations and people while assistant Josh Carr, a premiership coach at SANFL club North Adelaide, may add the Peel coaching position to his list of duties.

Interesting timing…

If after 10 years of drafting Sharrod Wellingham is your best catch, you can’t be too disappointed if you are moved on.
I guess he’s responsible for Blakely, Logue, Chapman

Probably worth mentioning: Freo staff riding for cancer research. Because * Cancer.

Imagine having the fact that you traded in Wellingham as your finest moment! And that Collingwood promptly drafted in Brody Grundy as a result.

Seriously though, great initiative.

Chatting with a long-time supporter yesterday. Her words ‘Fyfe needs to go. He’s a naughty boy. He stuck to himself in the hub last year. He’s not a team player.’

Then ‘I really want us to get Sparkle Narkle.’

Not much I could say really.

It's great when idiots identify themselves.

Fyfe detractors.

Anti-vaxxers.

Carlton supporters.

Fyfe is an easy target

Funnily enoughI was listening today they were talking about Fyfe remarkably on a rugby league podcast. And they briefly mentioned the brownlow awards and about how fyfe carried himself.

And someone said a story he had been told in media circles in Sydney about Fyfe and what a Figjam he was and how he wasn't a team player.

It was that a coach told Fyfe he needed him to play forward one day and that Fyfe said he didnt want to play there as it would cost him brownlow votes.

The fact this got brought up on a rugby league podcast in sydney was suprising that this would be true as i dont think ross lyon would cop that. But someone in media circles has passed this alleged story on somewhere.

But it also wouldn't surprise me at the same time as witnessing Fyfe from afar he seems like a guy who would be suited to individual sports not a criticism just an observation imo.

I hung out with him with friends at new years a few years back down south and he was incredibly friendly, easy going and to talk to, was asking about everyone else, was carefully looking after his friends which included Blakely, and went out of his way in the surf to say hi a couple of days later.

So I can say first hand, having a pretty good radar for dheads carefully tuned over many years, that the above person on the podcast is completely full of sh5t.

Bookies are so far off in the gf sprint odds

Petru at 1.57 is right but Henry second at 5.50?

Brayshaw will come secondz he is paying 26

Wish they offered placings, we could clean up on here

It’s because Aussie culture defaults to try and bring confident, talented people down rather than celebrating them. Tall poppy bullshit. It’s a large reason why I’m not bringing up my kids in it.
