I haven't been to the footy for two weeks because i don't want to go. I do, but under better conditions than the last couple of weeks.

I don't want to go because if we actually win, that will keep Danny safe - and i don't want to lose, because what's worse than that?

So that's pathetic i know - and i'm a rotten supporter - but that's how i feel.

I wonder how many others feel the same.

I'm sure the club could identify 26,108 others just like you froars (I assume you're a member like me you poor bugger).

Spot on Froars.
I share the same sentiment.

If we bottom out this year there is only one way to go - up.

That's the reality.

I paid $800 for my membership, and I'll definitely be rocking up to the home games. But I can't get enthusiastic about the club when we continually are the laughing stock of the competition.

How we manage to get ourselves into this position time and time again amazes me - well, it doesn't really because that's Richmond - the nature of the beast.

And i don't like bagging Danny cos he seems like a really nice person, but nice people don't necessarily make good coaches, and this one definitely isn't.

I wish he'd do the honourable thing and resign and put us all out of our misery. He is doing nothing for his reputation - in fact, he's putting a nail in his coaching coffin as each week goes by.

I'll still continue to go froars but I know where you're coming from.I just don't understand why we are persisting with the Dud when everyone else in the football community can see getting rid of him is the obvious solution.Meanwhile damage is being done to our club, supporter base and young players.

If Frawley resigns, one of his assistant (most likely Brittain) will be appointed to see out the year.

We'll be back in the exact same position we were in when Geischen took over.

The club needs to make an announcement that Frawley will see out the year but will not be coach in 2005 and the search has started. This takes pressure off Frawley, puts pressure on the players to impress the new coach, and shows prospective coaches that we're able to manage these things well for once at this club.

Caseys statements since the loss to Geelong dont help, demonstrate that he is as incompetent in football matters as Daphne was, and instead of looking for directors to replace the ones that left, should be looking for a president to replace himself.

It is highly embarrassing that he's asked Rex Hunt 3 times since xmas to join the board, and been told 3 times no way. No faith in his presidency or the club whilst he is in charge.

A mate said that we should make an announcement about Frawley's future (that we will be replaced for 2005) before the season started and I was dead against it. Well, I've turned....the sooner the better. Can't sack him as we have no money...at least state the bleeding obvious, play the kids and start the search. At least we may then have a coach in place before the trading period begins.

No direction off the field, no direction on the field. When will we learn? Why can't somebody from a management position stand up, acknowledge that we are in for some lean years, but we are headed in the right direction?

Instead we get fed crap about how much less it costs to get a recycled hack as against developing your own team. Tell that to Brisbane and St Kilda. There is no short cut to success, Richmond. The pot of gold at the end of Caseys rainbow is really a pile of ****.

Yep, i agree with what you said. But it would be nice if the club came out and made a statement to the effect they are going to play the kids, and if they get belted every week so be it cos we're looking to the future. Has Danny got the balls to do that? Don't think so, because his livelihood is on the line. I think Walls is a better coach than Spud, and has a good reputation within the footy community. Spud seems to be known only as a "good bloke". Good blokes are great, but is he prepared to sacrifice his own career prospects for the club's long term future?

If he did that, i would have enormous respect for him. Still wanna get rid of him at the end of the year, but i could live with it if he was playing the kids.

Time will tell.

$$$ is your answer there. Not to mention a rampant ego that needs to be massaged by a team with a larger supporter base than ours.

Ok, I give in. I was trying to be supportive of Frawley but I've realised that after the pathetic losses to Melbourne and Geelong that he has to go.

We have a better list than last year, fewer injuries but worse performances. I honestly believe that the current list is capable of much better and that Frawley is obviously incapable of inspiring them.

I just wish he'd do the honorable thing and resign now.

Froars, oxx, Diggler, Coach Required etc... Sorry, you were all right and I was wrong:mad:

Going to the Footy is not fun anymore.

I've come over to the "dark side".

Sedat, i wouldn't know if they were the reasons - i suspect you're right though.

But I can't criticise him for his efforts since he's been here. He's fitted in very well so far, and has been money well spent SO FAR!

Honestly, you can't blame Nathan Brown for joining us. We've been overpaying players that will never bring Punt Road a premiership for at least 10 years. 1995 was a great year for the club, players were paid what they were worth and they performed above expectations. It didn't take long for that situation to be reversed and we're still doing it now! We are held to ransom by overpaid inept footballers.

I bet half the posters on this board would find themselves on at least $100k down at Punt Road.

There is no doubt he is a hugely talented individual, and he will give excellent service to Richmond on the field. He certainly does know the value of the dollar, and I suspect he is now at one of the "big 4" Melbourne clubs so that he can benefit financially and personally from this additional exposure and subsequent opportunities. Nothing wrong with that, but not the stuff of quality "clubmen". But hey, if any side in the AFL needs a serious injection of classy disposal by foot, it's Richmond, so they and Brown are a perfect fit. Only on-field qury on him is that he has a small engine, and cannot run out a full game in the middle, hence speding more time up forward and getting bashed around by bigger, stronger backmen.
