I thought it was “keep on with the boy scouts” or “keep on when the boy stops” when I heard the song on the 1980s party shows of TTFM as a first-year university student! From Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop" I used to think "Keep on with the force, don't stop" was "Get on to the post office".
Whichever Radiohead song that went "I'm a reasonable man, get off my case, get off my case, get off my case!"
I thought he was singing "I'm a reasonable man, you're all f***heads, you're all f***heads, you're all f***heads!"
Oops
Also I got my ass wide.Weezer song, "I got my hash pipe" was hearing that as "I got my ass wiped".
When I was young, I thought that second line from ‘Bad Moon Rising’ was “‘Cause they’re bound to take your flight” – where “they” could only refer to suicide hijacker-terrorists exactly like the al-Qa‘ida teams who took over Flights 11, 175, 77 and 93 on September 11, 2001.Jon Fogarty's not the easiest guy to make sense of:
Don't go round tonight
Well it's bound to take your life
There's a bathroom on the right
And
I wanna know, have you ever seen Lorraine?
Stevie Wonder Signed, sealed delivered I use to think was 5 cents a minute.
Here I am baby, 5 cents a minute, I'm yours...
Back in the day, I though Melissa Etheridge on ‘Like the Way I Do’ sang “Seduce and wanna **** you” instead of “seduce you and affect you”. It actually makes sense the way I thought it was, unlike many lyrics I misheard as a boy.Weezer song, "I got my hash pipe" was hearing that as "I got my ass wiped".
Not about a song but a friend of mine initially thought the band Fischer Z were called Vicious Heads.
When I was a ten-year-old boy I though Michael Bolton’s name was Michael Dutton and I sang ‘Dock of the Bay’ once as “top of the bay” before my brother corrected me (as with ‘Kokomo’)!Not about a song but a friend of mine initially thought the band Fischer Z were called Vicious Heads.

It’s ironic that Bolton’s real name is actually Michael Bolotin, and that like many a critically deplored and big-selling MOR singer or band (e.g. REO Speedwagon’s first two albums did not dent the Billboard Top 200), Bolton was no overnight success. Bolton had been recording and performing (including with the hard rock band Blackjack) for thirteen years when he first reached the Billboard top 50 courtesy of ‘That’s What Love Is All About’.
According to AZ Lyrics:Does anybody know what The Beatles are saying in between the second and third verses of Yellow Submarine? This is what I can make out, with question marks for words of which I am not sure:
Full steam ahead Mr ?
Full steam ahead.
Full steam ahead it is sergeant. (Not 100% sure sergeant is correct)
Cut the cable! Drop the cable!
Aye aye sir, aye aye
?
?
Full speed ahead, Mr. Parker, full speed ahead!
Full speed over here, sir!
Action station! Action station!
Aye, aye, sir, fire!
Heaven! Heaven!
