So I take it that beach volleyball will be next on the list to be banned? Or will that be only the women's events?

Beach Volleyball attire, to a point, atleast makes a modicum of sense....

A bunch of girls I know from a water polo club were having this debate the other day.

Most of them agreed the LFL uniforms were far less revealing than your average swimsuit, their main gripe seemed to be that (unlike beach volleyball) you have to be a certain level of attractiveness to be selected to play.

I don't know how the selection policies work so I don't know if they had a point or not.

The uniforms are a part of the Legends Football League. The league exists because it is marketed
well, and it is entertainment as well as hard hitting sport. The games will be fun to go to. It is NOT
called the Lingerie Football league anymore. There are NOT garter belts. There is NO lace on the
uniforms. The tops are like a sports bra. The shoulder pads have been upgraded to provide better
protection and we will be wearing helmets (fit to our size) and mouthguards. Unlike the US league
we will be playing on grass as opposed to turf, so we will not get turf burns. Our contracts cover us
for insurance in case of serious injuries, and we have been offered discounts on private health
insurance and counselled as to what level of cover is optimal. Above all, we CHOSE to play this sport
fully aware of the high levels of contact, and also of what we would be wearing. Respect our choice.

I don't know about the selection policies either, but the players aren't exactly models. I think the main problem is with the use of the word lingerie.

That's my point, it's not lingerie at all, if you brought that home to your wife/GF on valentines, she'd run for the hills. There is also far less skin on show than bathers, especially with the shoulder pads involved.
