I went looking for the Facebook page a couple days after I heard about the story. Initially, they were reporting as MISSING. The police had the page shut down and announced that the pair were in fact WANTED. Not sure why I presumed child pr0n. A mate thought they'd embezzled money.

The charges are related child pr0n, and the accused disappeared without a trace around the time police had made a move to seize their computer(s).

Why would you think the police would not have gone public on this one regardless of the family doing so first?

This is all a massive conspiracy. I believe they were prospecting for gold. McGregor's gold. Its current worth is over one hundred million dollars, and the police know about it too.
But the police couldnt just arrest them for nothing til they found the gold for themselves, no. Because with the internets and the tweeting and the bookface, the world can easily find things out and spread the word.

From what was in todays paper her defence was she did it because she loved him. Her parents have offered 100k for bail but only if she goes back Darwin and stays with them. From what was reported it seems that there was another couple involved as well. Seems like her family is paying for better lawyers than him.
