He hasn’t played in the NAB Challenge, for no other reason than the club planned it. He’ll play for Box Hill this weekend and against Melbourne the following week, before he plays Round 1.

Assume he's not the only one either. Imagine it's more a case of limited opportunities for game time before the season proper and we'll see those 'more likely' round1 names slot in in place of some of the youngsters so they can hit the ground running in round 1.
