Hey guys, i found the 2007 member's year book this morning, it was nice to have a flick through and gloss over where we'd come from since last year.

I remember reading Costa and Cook's mission statement and vision at the start of the year and hoping that they weren't just trying to appease us supporters, but looking back now there's a lot of stuff in this book that has been realised and we're on the way to achieving the mission statement...

"It is 2020 and we have won more premierships than any other club over the past decade and are the most admired football club operator in Australia.

We have become the benchmark for others to emulate, running smoothly and professionally with ample resources, international and internal experts and world-class facilities.

Our players are considered role models for the code, displaying a conviction to winning and performance that is considered a religion."

:D

I'm glad you posted this. :thumbsu:

I've been thinking about Cook's mission statement a lot over the last week, but could not find it anywhere.

We can make it a reality if we want to.
We now have a young premiership team with no baggage of the past weighing them down.

Magnificent, isn't it?

Also, for those who were lucky enough to hear Tom Harley's inaugural captain's speech at the 2006 Best & Fairest, it is great to look back on now. How respect is so easy to lose, and so hard to gain, and that 2007 would be about regaining respect and he would do his best in his quest to achieve it.

Well, Tommy, I think you've done a pretty good job :thumbsu:

Pretty good job? He's done a bloody awesome job!

Not only has the club regained the respect it lost last year, and then some, but he seems to have broken the dreaded captain's curse that seemed to be prevalent down at the Cattery for years.
