Mitch Clark Return..

Young comes off as a really petty child. What an absolute low life scum.

If I was a Freo player that used him (Sandi, Balla, Mayne, Duffield, MJ, Griffin, Mora, few more ... according to his website), I would be on the phone telling him I'm going to terminate his services.

Young took a shot at our club, hopefully our players are dirty at him for that. Very unprofessional, to take a shot at a club where your clients work.

Gotta laugh at Young defending his meal ticket.

perfectly said, I mean 'we lost out on the trade of the century' ROFL

guys a turncoat that dogged Brisbane citing he wanted to come home for family reasons, then signed with Melbourne because of more money, dudes a phoney and probably depressed cos he's such a scumbag LOL ;/

Saying "Mitch who?" is not clever and I really hope this wasn't an intentional put down.

I agree. Lyon is a great coach but I don't really see the need to be so relentlessly combative with the media. It's part of your job mate, going around belittling journalists isn't. It's pretty close to bullying what he does, the journalist can't answer him back or he'd lose his job.

I think Melbourne should take him back but give us their first draft pick in return. He is a powerful forward and they don't grow on trees.

I reckon if Lyon had his time over he would handle that question differently. RTB has seemed a bit out of sorts this week.

Young is just a tosser.

So Clark wants to go to a successful culture and is linked to Collingwood in the same week, Jolly gave the Pies a whack?

Personally I don't think he is ready to come back, if that is his thinking. What will happen the first time he gets dropped?

and the fact that Melbourne offered pick 12.

done deal. Not worth even pick 20 given what transpired since.

I don't think pick 12 was really relevant - that just happened to be what Melbourne happened to have. If Clark had've said 'I'm going to Freo', Melbourne could've offered pick 5 and it still wouldn't have got it done. Clark certainly wasn't interested in making sure Brisbane was well compensated, he was looking after himself. It was the $$$$ that Schwab offered that caused the backflip. If Melbourne offered the big dollar contract but only had pick 18 to give (say), then he still would've gone there. That the pick was better than what we could offer was just coincidence and luck for Brisbane really.

But if he states that he's uncomfortable talking about it, why ask him another question.

I thought Ross' "Mitch Who" comment was unnecessary. I like to think that football is professional enough to accept that people make decisions based on what they think is best for they and their families at any given time. I have defended Ross many times for his decision to leave St Kilda in the manner that he did and move here because it was a professional decision from a professional coach and I am thankful that he did. He has turned this place around.

Mitch Clark was in a difficult position when he made the decision he made, professionally and personally. I hold no ill will towards him and hope that he is able to get on with his life whether it is here or somewhere else. Ross' comment was belittling and I expect better from him.

As for asking the question when he said he was uncomfortable. Pretty sure there was only the one question asked and Ross took it and ran with it. I actually think he regretted saying Mitch who straight way, because his demeanour changed as soon as he had said it.

He's only combative with journos that ask stupid questions, wants them to give greater 'effort'.

That's like asking little kids not to call another kid a nickname when it gets a reaction every time. The journo would have been licking his lips hearing that comment back.

I think expecting a coach to have the perfect PC answer, free of emotion, to an on-the-spot question, every time, is ridiculous. Let alone during a final series where the players played pretty poorly the week before and about a subject that has very little to do with us..

Respect and decency are not unreasonable expectations. Anybody playing the PC gone mad card is clutching at straws.

That's your opinion. Ross is human and he lost his cool. Like the rest of us sometimes. It would be nice if we all had total control over our emotions all of the time. Doesn't really happen, unless you are a machine of course. He is flawed like the rest of us. Most of us try to get it right most of the time, but I haven't seen it happen very often if a person is actually showing their real selves and not just some distilled facade.

I accept that Ross is human. I think he made a mistake with what he said. I love him as our coach and defend him 99% of the time. Just not going to laugh along with this like it was an ok thing to say like some on the board.

I'm not laughing, but I do think the answer was honest.

Dumb question to ask in the middle of finals.. Ross could have possibly handled it better but gave the response we were all looking for - we have no interest in him. Show Rosco is human after all and is feeling the heat a little

Young is just pissed he cant leverage freo to boost his clients profile and worth up.

Fact is, Young has decided to throw Clark's name around, surely he must know if his client is mentally ready fro it

It's going to piss some people off that everybody isn't sympathetic to Clark's plight, but he's going to be treated the same as any other player with a prior serious injury that has a likelihood of re-occurrence.

I cannot imagine you pissing anybody off Reg !!!

I think it is perfectly reasonable for any club to take into account his condition prior to taking a chance.
