Mitch Clark Return..

I said recently that I don't want the campaigner but after the weekend, I'm gonna do a 180 and say recruit the motherlover, stat! We need more swagger and more players who want to impose themselves on the game and we need forwards who can do this. If Clark can be gotten for the right price, do it.
Amazing what a good loss does.

Yep. We were outclassed. There's only so much a blue collar team can do. I want a freakin' flag and I want one while we have the midfield that we do. Clark at the Dees looked like a trier and if he comes into the side, I'm sure he'll make up for being a dickwad by busting a nut to get to play. Make it happen, Bondy.

Injuries and illness aside, as these shouldn't really have much of bearing of whether we want him at the club (i'm not talking about ability, trade worth etc here) but is he of the character that we want?

I'm really divided on this one. Stuffed Brisbane and Freo around, then looks like he is doing the dirty on Melbourne and is now allegedly stating that he doesn't want to go to a club that is rebuilding or suffering from a lot of losses as he can't cope with that.

On the other hand, maybe its worth a try!! If it helps us to a flag who cares.

Going to have to trust the club with some, hopefully, inside knowledge on this one.

I'm still firmly in the Fyfe eventually to play as a permanent forward camp. We need to recruit some gun mids to fill in their so we're no robbing Peter to pay Paul. Decent mids are probably easier to find than decent tall forwards.

We don't need Clark any more.
But Fyfe excels around the ground? He is a clearance freak. Sure he will spend some time in the forward, I honestly don't see why people think he will be a permanent forward in the near future.

His freakish ability to take overhead marks. Every time he does that inside 50m it's a set shot and a scoring opportunity. Getting lots of the ball in the midfield is good, but then the team still needs to find and hit a target inside 50m to finish it off, which might not happen if the target is a poor mark. He would excel in either position, but for me it's a case of where we get the most bang for the buck.

Ross in his live pre-final presser (paraphrased, I'm not a dictaphone):

Journo - After the season ends, will you be interested in talking to Mitch Clark
RTB - Who?
Journo - Mitch Clark
RTB - Oh yeah. A young man who had the opportunity to come to our club and didn't take it.

Ouch.

Here is a link to his manager talking about him.

Still a chance to play at Melbourne (This could have changed after talking to Roos yesterday).
Young: "Mitch wouldn't walk away from the Melbourne Football Club without them being compensated"
Mitch - Did Melbourne a favour by walking away from a very lucrative contract

Partner doing a surgeon course in Melbourne, could transfer to Perth.

Half a dozen clubs have called Colin Young in the last fortnight.

That's sorted that then

RTB would know exactly what's going on with Mitch Clark, Paul Roos and RTB are best friends. No way Roos would sell him or give him a lemon.

I think there's more to it than "depression" I could be wrong but very fishy.

I think that what he did to Freo and is now trying to do to Melbourne says a lot about his character, regardless of his illness.

Glad we have ruled him out.

I'm sure he does have some sort of depression but that still doesn't stop him from being a shit bloke.

Classic reply. "Mitch what's his name". Wow. Guess we know what Freo thought about what he did. Pride over utility in an AFL club, who would have thought.

Rumoured to be heading to Hawks...as if they need another forward!!! He should be forced to go where the Demons can trade him....the Bulldogs would be a good choice or maybe the Saints

Love RTB presser's... clearly there to talk about the finals... some nob asks about Clark, he says exactly what he thought (which usually is the opinion of other key members of the club otherwise there are bigger issues at play) and now we all can move on.

Clark wont be in freo colours next year, like Ross said, had his chance and didn't take it

Possibly, but would I think he would have shown Clark a bit more respect if that was the case.
Why he show us f.all? He wanted to come to this club and be paid more than Pav!! We offered him overs of what he was worth with the view of stability in a good club pushing into a premiership window. Melbourne offered a lot more as a basket case club. He followed the dough, he made his bed.
