Why do you think he hasn't said it yet, considering there's only a day and a half to go for this trade period?

No, Clark has not stated that he doesn't want to deal with Melbourne, his management has said that he is seriously considering the offer. All he has to do is say no to Melbourne and then we would be out of the race, that hasn't happened yet.

He asked to be traded back to Perth and nominated Freo. Melbourne has backed a truckload of money up to his front door, he would be insane to not consider it. I'm hoping Mitch's family outweighs that truckload of cash. Otherwise he can go be a demon. I won't bear a grudge.

Whilst there is an inherent "market value" of a player, there is always a different value based on the needs of the club looking at the player.

Freo really do not need Mitch as badly as Bris and others want to make out. He is a slight upgrade only on several players Freo already has. It is the fact Mitch wants to return to Perth, and play for Freo that makes him worth chasing.

But the Bris price is far to high for the extra benefit he would give Freo - particularly when KP and mid fielders are sought.

About time Freo took all offers off the table (if there even has been a proper offer made). But perhaps Freo should just remain totally quiet - that way Melb, who will be no threat for flag in coming years, may end up with him for rediculous cost.

Freo should see if he makes the PSD. If a non-WA club is stupid enough to select him - using up precious salary cap and trying to make it work with him playing out of Perth - well LOL

2) For those saying 16 + 20 is overs, which two players would be available at those picks that will be more valuable to the Lions list? Genuine question.

Seriously not trying to be a smart-arse, but if he's no longer coming home, which is his given reason for leaving the Lions, why don't you just convince him to stay and be done with all this shit? Genuine question.

Crazy Vossy again...

This is why deals don't get done, clubs always want too much.

Pick 16 + 20 is more than fair for a player who is not in the top 50 players in the competition.

Mitch even considering Melbourne means it's not just about getting home. Bradshaw, Rischa, Brennan and now Clark. Gee, good old Crazy Vossy.

1) Let's not take Barrett at his word.

I can think of a couple who'd probably be available at 16 and 20 who would be more valuable to Freo than Mitch Clark. I can also think of a couple of players we could trade those players for who would be more useful to us.

Does Freo actually have a plan B? Maybe a move for Setana O Hailpin would be in the works if they miss out on Clarke and vice versa for the Dees

Plan B for what? Trading away picks to get a forward?? Don't need a plan B when plan A should be Pavlich(out of the ****ing midfield)/Clarke (or Keplar or Johnson or Anthony) forward.

So this has changed into

Freo fans: Do not want Clark. Price too high.
Melb fans: Want him
Bris fans: Want to deal with Melb for the better deal.

Melbourne can have him. Not worth it imo. So there is no point trying to get all high and mighty thinking you "beat" us.. when in all honesty not many Freo supporters give a shit.

Yeah all those interviews that Voss has d....oh wait

Rob Kerr who handles the trades...well done buddy

What's the worst case scenario for Freo here...

  1. We don't get a player we never had anyway.
  2. We have two first round draft picks.

Yeah such a shit deal for Freo if we miss out. lol...

You watch how happy all the Freo fans will be if he goes there :D

^^^^^^^

I'd like to ask this question again, cos Brisbane fans have been eerily silent with any responses. It's a genuine question, not a troll question.

Kinda funny really...

Guy plays 6 years at Brisbane, decides he wants to go home (but 'loves' Brisbane, is grateful for the opportunity they gave him, it isn't about the footy club but about wanting to be close to his family etc, etc)... YET -

Will now probably head to Melbourne to start ALL over, leaving the club he 'loves' and 'appreciates', yet not "coming home" as was the original reason he gave. He wasn't starved of opportunity at Brisbane, nor is he seeking to be played in a preferred position... so why not just stay in Brisbane and save the hassle of relocating somewhere that's not 'home'?

What is he saying about his current footy club?

Seriously, AFAIC he was always going to be a good get, but not by mortgaging the future as we have done often in the past. Let Melbourne have him FFS - he's not that good - and let's take our two first round picks to the National Draft. :thumbsu:

He is saying that he likes money more than his family.

Brisbane aren't going to pay him $600k a year mate, which is why he is considering going to melbourne instead of Freo.

He wouldn't be considering going to Melbourne for the money he is on now.

to be honest freo supporters might not rate clark too highly and are not fond of the deal they have offered. but at the end of the day freo are still interested and will probably improve the offer to get the deal done; as much as you dont like it, if a club doesnt stop pursuing they will offer a greater deal
