any news on what Freo are currently offering? I would imagine considering the crows are keen to secure compo picks that the lions are hopeful of getting pick 16 and the palmer compo pick.

The problem is that if Clark was a SA guy then a straight swap with Clark and tippett would take place, so freo need to come to the table with a offer that satisfies the crows you would think...hence why it is taking so god damm long

FYI i have spoken to someone who knows mitch personally, and they have indicated that Mitch really doesn't care if he doesn't play footy at all next year, or ever again for that matter (if he can't get to freo via PSD).

His GF is a model that lives in Perth, hence why his desire to head home.

My friend admitted that he doesn't have a very good grasp of what life is like in the real world, should he walk away from football. he has no qualifications, degrees or experience and hasn't done anything other than play football.

Interesting take on the whole situation.

Freo are kidding themselves...the demons made the lions a very good offer, so we know what he is worth, and it is more then just 1 late 1st round pick...Im sure clark would be impressed if he goes into the PSD after freo failed to come to the table, and after a past 2 years of them talking clark into returning home

Umm... He's not in the draft at this point, so how can anything he does be draft tampering?

Brisbane are free to trade Mitch Clark anywhere they want, but he's uncontracted, which means that he has to sign a new contract at whatever team he's traded to, and if he doesn't agree to sign with the team he's going to, who is going to trade for him?

Theoretically, Brisbane could trade him to Port Adelaide, and he could refuse to sign a contract with Port and go in the draft anyway.

Once he's in the draft, he has to accept the team that drafts him, but at the moment, he has every right to stipulate what teams he would be willing to sign a new contract with if he were to be traded to them.

Save your arrogance until the actual trade is know. Brisbane were/are always going to use those pick's in the 30's, it's anything after that (ie Freo's 2nd rounder) that would be be unlikely to be used.

We certainly dodged a bullet. If he had of not stipulated the one club he would most likely would have ended up at Melbourne who appeared to be willing to trade almost anything (as is Schwabb's want). At least this way there is a chance the deal will be reasonable.

Clark is the one holding brissy randsom not us. It is not our obligation to be fair, or even want him in the first place. Clark is chasing us and if he wanted to join "a club that actually wants him" as you put it, he would of taken the Melbourne deal.

Yeah... Gunston's trade has nothing to do with this.

And Freo ARE the only buyer if the seller (Clark) says so. It matters tremendously to his trade value.
