Hmm...'everyone is walking'.....obviously you haven't caught up with the news late in the season that Brisbane have resigned many of their players including Leunenberger, Rich etc. However, we don't want the facts to get in the way of a 'desperate' poster especially one who is still probably upset about Tom Scully walking (running) out of the Dee's.

So far the story goes that pick 16 has been offered, Brisbane and Kerr who is in charge of the deal, doesn't think thats enough. Fremantle think they can get him for nicks in the PSD, so its a mexican standoff at the moment.

Shall see how the next few days unfold.

Yep.... GWS will snap up a player living in Perth... paying him 400 odd thousand a year (or how ever much he puts his contract at)........


Just like previous years if he (or other players, McPhee etc.) does go the PSD he will end up at Freo because that is his choice and a club is not going to waste time or money on a player that 1) doesn't live in the state and 2) doesn't want to play for that team.
 
Don't be so sure about that...we do know Sheeds is not happy with Freo re Harvey and if there is a chance of getting a quality player and stick it to Freo at the same time he will take it.

MC might kick up a stink at the beginning but come game time personal pride will take over and he will play the best he can for GWS

Funny how the AFL said now about what Bris will get if GWS does get him.. Coincidence...., I don't think so..

You may be right there Alfonz. But I didn't think a player could stipulate where he lived or trained. Isn't that bordering on draft tampering ?

If that was the case, why don't players nominate their location all of the time ? Instead they have to go to whatever location the draft takes them.
 
GWS will surely snap him if he falls through to the GWS. Salary won't be a problem for them, and they have enough picks to take a risk on recruiting someone who wants to go elsewhere. Surely there's a player Freo could offer to sweeten the deal?

Yeah, I wouldn't take anything that Sheeds says seriously.
 
How come Clark doesn't want to go to West Coast? I know theres a lot of competition for key position spots there compared to Fremantle, but he's the kind of guy who could play anywhere.

You'd think so but Brisbane doesn't want any pick after 35 becuase they won't be using them hence they would be useless.

For pick 38 you could have gotten a Seaby/Maric/Renouf type player if they were still around. Actually Seaby is still around and they need a ruckman.

AFL did nothing when Josh Carr had said he will be living in SA prior to the PSD so no club would touch him other than Port... which is where he wanted to go and where he ended up.

McPhee.... Had already started training with Fremantle prior to the PSD and was not going to get selected by any other clubs even though Fremantle had like pick 6 or 8.

IF it gets to the PSD he will get to his preferred location and the AFL will do nothing. It's shit but that is the way it has been for a while now.

This is where the 'I just want to be with my sick nan' story falls down. Could just as easily visit her and play for West Coast, who were in the running until Clark's manager shut them down. It's always been about going to Freo without Freo paying the appropriate recompense. Dog act by Clark, I seriously hope he goes to the PSD and GWS pick him up.

Yes but no club called Carr's bluff. This will be tested if/when Clark is drafted by GWS. He has already said that he would, begrudgingly, play for Melbourne if they drafted him.
 
What do Brisbane supporters think is fair compensation for Clark? I'm sure most have said already but I couldn't bring myself to read this whole thread after it wasn't called "Mitch Clark 2 - Electric Boogaloo".
 
Unless Freo are prepared to make a decent offer, the winners will be GWS and the Lions, the losers will be Freo and Mitch Clark.

So - the ball is in Freo's court. Do they want him or not?

These threads have been going around in circles for 1800+ posts.

Freo fans think they have the upper hand and they will get Clark for a box of stale donuts.

Lions fans think they have the upper hand, thanks to the GWS PSD situation. A band 2 compo pick would be great, so Freo have to offer something better.

Freo want to offer 16 or 20, Lions want 16 and 20. Something in between will surely be agreed upon. 16 and 20 for Clark and 34, just get it over with.

This guy has to be dreaming.....keeps chiming in and loves giving away both our first rounders.......its so easy when they are someone else's hey books????? There is no way that is ever going to happen.....they will be getting the same compensation we got for palmer from the afl......both had a good year, both former top 10 draft picks, both young and both have done very little in their respective careers to warrant more......Clark has made it quite clear he doesnt want to be anywhere else....as much as sheedy would love to steal him from us.....that will not happen.....brisbane either take 20 or we take him for zero.

Dees wont take a player that clearly doesn't want to play for them. I also doubt GWS will do it either.

If he goes to the PSD, the Lions have to option to take him and ruin his plans and leave a fairly uncomfortable situation. If the Lions pass on him, he'll get to Freo.

The Lions may just think, OK the guy wont play for us, but he wont play anywhere else. He'll just take up a list spot and not get paid if he doesn't front up for training etc. Little odd, but Crazy Baked bean head may just do it.

Brisbane will be in a reversed situation when Tippett nominates the Lions as his club next year.

Will never happen. You need to read the whole story. If GWS or Port don't pick him, Melbourne will. So Freo need to pay up.

Anyway, not my problem. Cheers.
