Lions supporters still angling for Clarke + 16. Time to get out, hope Clark reject Melbourne and then only offer 16 Monday.

Phew! We may well have dodged a bullet there boys.

If we now offer 16, 20 AND a first 22 player I will go seriously apeshite.

Actually I've not heard or read anything from a Fremantle official regarding what we've offered. Kerr has publicly stated that we had yet to offer anything a day or so ago.

I respect the fact that we dont talk about our trade offers like others do - it doesnt serve us to make public our transactions and negotiations.

Well given that there had been reports Brisbane had rejected our offer of 16.. and then Brisbane has said we haven't offered anything.. you'd think that they are making this shit up, just to have a story. Hutchy likes to make lots of things up about us, he hates us with a passion for some reason.

Truly the work of hutchy & only him !! I would easily take word from hackdorn over hutchy any day .
Would truly love to listen to Trade Week Radio & can but just can't listen to that knob . Only switch on after he has finished .

If the pick 20 and 16 offer is true. Then Bond is starting to crack:thumbsu::):thumbsu:

Mitch or his manager hasn't come out today saying no to melbourne's offer. In fact they haven't been contactable yet today... must be busy doing something:p

I'd be very surprised if we had actually offered both of our top picks, but if that's true and Brisbane said no than we should take no further part in this deal. M Clark hasn't suddenly become a future superstar rather than a flaky Ruck/Fwd and a slight upgrage on Kepler Bradley, and certainly isn't worth 2 future top 20 players and a current player

Pfft if true, leave it to the last day when they come calling back, offer them a third rounder. If they don't like it?

They can GEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT OUT!

Key word being 'If'.

Needless to say there are plenty of folks here that have their doubts, myself included.

EDIT: TWR just took a call regarding Clark; When a caller asked how the rejection of 16+20 affects Melbourne's offer, both hosts basically confirmed they don't know for sure which deals have or haven't been as such rejected. They're speculating.... methinks bullshit.

There has been no source from either the Lions or Dockers on the offer of picks 16 & 20 for M.Clark. Damian Barrett spilled it on TWR.

Still no source though so I'm calling carp, I find it hard to believe that we offered both picks.

Surely we'd have offered a player and a pick before both picks?

Can't possibly be true - there's no way Brisbane would have knocked it back if we offered that.

Not sure. I thick Nathan Thompson said he spoke to Freo about Brissie wanting 16, 20 and Mayne and Freo said they can stick it up their u know what.

If Clark rejects Melbourne we should offer nothing and let him go to the PSD. No interstate club would touch him if he knocked back the Dees massive offer.

Absolutely. My guess is a tentative offer of our (now gone) compo pick for Palmer was offered early in the week and there's been nothing concrete offered since. I also believe that Melbourne have made a serious offer, but would be very surprised if Clark is willing to go there. I think that's were it's at, simple as that. The rest of what we've heard is just rumour and BS.

Having said that, I think when push comes to shove Kerr will ask for both 16 + 20 and then we'll know for sure how keen Bond is to get Clark, my guess is Bond will hold out and simply offer one of those picks and maybe (unlikely) a player who might be willing to go to Bris - and all reports are there aren't any willing to do that. In the end of the day, we don't have that much to lose and Bris do.

I would assume that lions, freo and melb are working for this trade atm and that's why there hasn't been any official comment from any club or his manager. The lions want Tippett so they would be very keen to have this trade sorted out by this afternoon as I doubt much would happen over the weekend.

It doesn't surprise me. In a normal year those picks are a late 1st and early second rounder and the fact that it is supposably a weak draft and it is compromised would mean the value of those picks isn't worth as much to the lions as Clark was. That's not to say that you wouldn't be able to get a decent player with those picks. My guess is we've asked for a player that you aren't willing to give up.

a myth. it's considered a weak draft because the depth thins out past pick 25 ish. but with good recruiting there are still good kids to get with our picks.

I guess this is where it matters who is chasing whom. Clark is chasing Fremantle, not Fremantle chasing Clark. I don't think there are any players we want to give up, if we can get Clark he would add to our list, but we're not prepared to compromise our list to get him. There is a gap in our list for a decent second tall forward, but that gap isn't so huge we'd compromise somewhere else to fill it.

In any other draft, we offered pick #7 and pick #11/pick#19 (depending on whether you rate it as four later, or the end of first round).

It's immaterial at this point, Fremantle either don't have the goods to make a trade Brisbane will accept or Brisbane want something from someone else.

Mitch Clark has to accept a trade and he can put his foot down about not being traded to Melbourne, but I don't think that would stop Brisbane eying up pick #12.

Fremantle need to sit on their hands and smile politely until 1330hrs Monday.
Mitch Clark and his manager need to spend the weekend at the beach with their phones off.

There will be dirty feelings about it, but Brisbane can get shafted before Fremantle pays anything except the bare minimum for a guy wanting to come home.

Edit**

Colin Young on TWR just said that Mitch had spent a day thinking about Melbourne's offer and decided he still wants to play for Fremantle.

I believe we got into his ear weeks ago.
