Unfortunately in a vastly changed game and entirely different role these abilities from playing days don't translate to list management expertise.

I wouldn't be surprised if we've been working on this since last year, considering we never had enough to get him whilst he was contracted.

It wouldnt suprise me if Clark and his manager actually aproached us, told us of his desire to move back here an play for us.
We then looked into it an said yep we will take him that would be great but not at any great cost.

After the Melbourne offer came we went back to him an said look mate we cant give up all these draft picks but still really want you.
If you still want to play for us we need you to come out an make a statement on your intentions.

Stuff like this isnt sposed to happen but everyone knows it does.

Catching up with the news of the day, So if I've got things right, Ch9 without any confirmed hard evidence have come out and said the deal is basically done and that is the ONLY source we have?

I'm not too convinced if that is the case. Given nothing official can be done 'til Monday, I think it will go down to the wire as originally expected and we'll all be in the dark until it's actually a done deal.

The problem here, as I see it, is this seems to be the prevailing attitude of a lot of Fremantle supporters. Of course, the club might not be the same way, but if your club is the same way, then no-one's going to trade with you. It's like the Kiwi's when Aussies are involved... real little brother chip on shoulder stuff. You guys are coming across that way with words like those quoted.
