I don't think we are going to screw Brisbane over too badly. We seem to have 2 massive egos in a Mexican stand-off (Kerr vs Bond), and I can see Kerr being stubborn enough to send Clark to the PSD if he so desires. Maybe we can get Clark in the PSD, but I'm not sure that is a risk we want to take.

Some earlier posts which have the deal as Clark+34 for 16+20 seem about right. Brisbane might throw in 52 if they aren't going to use it. Essentially Brisbane are getting 16+20, which is more than fair. The picks they give up are meaningless to them, if they won't be using them. We could maybe look to send 34 or 38 to St Kilda for Clint Jones.

If we gave up 16+20 for Clark and Jones, it wouldn't be the perfect outcome for us, but it would be an OK trade. I'd still like to keep pick 16 ... with GWS possibly drafting for needs, it could be worth more than pick 16 ... but unfortunately I can't see us holding onto it if we want to get Brisbane to sign off on a deal.
What a wimpy way to go about things.

So because Crazzzzzy Vossy wants to pay over the odds again for another one of his crazy selections, he's pissed at us for not giving him the picks for him to waste.

Surely no sane person thinks that Tippett is worth 2 top 12 picks.

He is definitely worth more than Clark though, who is apparently worth two top twenty picks according to some on this board.

Why would Clark be worth anymore than pick 16 alone? Wasn't he a late first rounder in the first place and has he proven himself to be worth the pick he went in the draft in the first place? I would offer pick 16 and maybe a late 3rd or 4th rounder to seal the deal and that's it. You have to always be mindful of what you are going to potentially be giving up. I hope Fremantle aren't obsessed with winning a flag before Pav, Sandi and McPharlin retire to the detriment of long term sustainability.

And that might well get the deal done - except that according to the Lions press release your club has offered NOTHING AT ALL yet.

I really want this to go to the PSD now.

Picked up by Melbourne/GWS whomever for $1 million for 1 year (actually Melbourne would be the best as that might just kill them off once and for all HAHAHAH).

Theeeeeeeen

He requests personal time to be with his terminally ill grandmother and takes 3-9 months off to be with her in Perth.

NO club would refuse his request as it was his MAJOR reason for wanting to return to Perth and IF they did they would be seen as Ghouls and insensitive to the max and then have serious problems with the AFLPA to boot.

Go onnnnnnnn try it Melbourne/GWS muwahahahaaha

Wedge politics Clay.

We left the offer near the cigarette machine - Kerr just has to wait for it to dry.

If we give up two first rounders for this guy it'll undo so much of the good work we've done for our list, and our reputation, in the last few years.

Please don't let the rumours be true.

Pick 16 and 20 would be giving up the last pick in the 1st round and an early 2nd round in years gone by.

Don't be fooled with the 2 x 1st round pick thing.

Just take a look at our goal-to-goal line with him in the team and you all may feel a little better. What ever price we pay will be better than it would have been had Melbourne still been in the race..
Just need to fill a couple of holes now, then we can recruit for the future.

The problem here, as I see it, is this seems to be the prevailing attitude of a lot of Fremantle supporters. Of course, the club might not be the same way, but if your club is the same way, then no-one's going to trade with you. It's like the Kiwi's when Aussies are involved... real little brother chip on shoulder stuff. You guys are coming across that way with words like those quoted.

The reality of course is none of us here have anything to do with what actually goes on. It's a strange psychological phenomenon on BF where we all seem to become little tyrants on behalf of our clubs during Trade Week. I doubt it has even the slightest effect on reality ,)

Not at all. Tippett is a better player than Clark - can actually kick goals up forward and ruck.

I get the feeling that Clark's getting all this love because he's from WA. That doesn't make him a special player.

Their 2011 was almost identical. Tippett is very over rated.

The good thing is by 11am monday we should either have Clark and a first rounder or we're off to the draft with our pick intact, and still a chance at Clark. Win all round

How is it a win for your club, that they can actively pursue a player and yet be so stubborn they do not even make an offer for him?

If that is sensible business practice, then I'm not breathing. To consider the approach from Fremantle in this to have been "win all round" is naive to the bigger picture, in the extreme.
