How is it a win for your club, that they can actively pursue a player and yet be so stubborn they do not even make an offer for him?

If that is sensible business practice, then I'm not breathing. To consider the approach from Fremantle in this to have been "win all round" is naive to the bigger picture, in the extreme.

We currently have two first round picks you numpty. I'm assuming we'll offer you one of them.

Statistically Clark has it all over Tippett except for goals, largely as he's played ruck. In the one year he played forward he pretty much equalled Tippett's goal output.

I don't rate Tippett much. His kicking for goal for a supposed key forward is a joke.
Which means a lot for us because we're getting Clark as a forward.

Seriously, he's a shit forward. PSD or bust. This delusion of Moo's that we'll get 90 goals out of Clark + Pavlich is the same shit I read about the Tarrant trade. It's only possible if both have their best seasons on record.

The good thing is by 11am monday we should either have Clark and a first rounder or we're off to the draft with our pick intact, and still a chance at Clark. Win all round

Totally agree with this. Has ben my preferred outcome throughout this whole excruciatingly tedious process.

I would have refreshed BF close to 300 times yesterday. Can any IT experts tell me if that's enough to come up on the radar of my work? haha

What? He kicked goals while Clark led the ruck. How do you get FAR better out of that. I'm not one for overstating Clark's value but he was outstanding in 2009.
What are we getting Clark for again?

Which position do we have the most depth in?

Think about it. Just because Clark had one good season in the ruck, doesn't mean he can play in any other position well.

A guy who can kick goals is always better than a guy who can ruck. Who would you rather have - Lance Franklin or Aaron Sandilands?

Absolutely it will but just tell them you had it on in the background and it was auto-refreshing. If they don't look all that hard, you'll probably get away with it.:D:D:D

??? Knew that, changes nothing... my point is that this kind of business practice is poor, and will hurt you in future trading. How do you think other clubs will respond to this?

"Fremantle are stubborn at trading, so we'll have to play hard-ball with them right back to get a fair deal."

Will make trading with your club very difficult going ahead. The best way is to be firm, but fair.

Sweet, cheers. This trade week is like an addiction.

He's not the kf messiah, agreed.
I'm fine now personally with pick 20. Pick 38 would be better, but realistically? That's neither giving up the farm or terribly underpaying. If they don't want 20 go to the draft.
I think he has a bit to offer.

I reckon we have a real opportunity to get him for free. That's how I see the club playing it at the moment.

Such a deal would push the club years ahead. Imagine keeping all the picks in this draft and getting Clark for free. We'd be well ahead of where we were expecting to be at round 24 this year.

I'm not sure why the notion of fairness has to enter into it. I feel for Brisbane, but that's not my problem. No one cares when Freo gets boned at the trade table.

Doesn't seem to have effected Collingwood that much...

bottom line is clark asked for a trade last year but crazy vossy decided not to act on it....you knew this was going to happen this year yet u still ignored it last trade period when u could have shopped him around and got a decent offer for him...you made him stay another year which he saw as you guys f#$king him around so now he doesnt care if you get nothing....he is out of contract, he is leaving to the club of his choice and if the lions get nothing he's probably having a beer and a laugh because pay back is a b!tch.....next time wen a player says with one year left on his contract he wants out, trade him and get something of worth before his contract is up...we did the same thing with tarrant and it cost us....hopefully you red headed step childs in brisbane realise this from now on......just watch as tippet picks brisbane next year.....will you still be trying to be fair then or will u nominate the PSD???

The more I think about it, the more I agree with this.

We should take the gamble that we land him in the PSD. That will leave us with 16 & 20 in the draft which could set us up perfectly.
I still can't see GWS or Melbourne picking Clark up in the PSD despite brisbane supporters insisting this will happen. No point having a highly paid player on your list who won't be giving close to 100%, not to mention the fact he will be gone as soon as his contract is up. The AFLPA will kick up a storm as well.

Never has such an obviously illiterate person written such pure truth, like a cat having an epileptic fit near some paint cans and producing a Da Vinci.

Heres the thing, its called trading - or an exchange. We decide what we want to give/receive as do you. We dont make the call on what you want for Clark and you dont make the call on what we offer - hence a trade.

So dont come on this board telling us that our business practices are poor, that no-one will want to trade with us in the future, that we are dreaming etc, etc, its a trade - we are not holding a gun to your head and you aren't holding one to ours. What happens, happens, everyone is out for themselves - you - us - conners - clarke. For ####'s sake, you brissie supporters....just stop whining.
