I actually enjoy Clay's input into this board, I just wish it would be in a more 'discussion type mode' versus 'I have to be right'.

Wouldn't the ND be a safer option for Clark compared to the PSD?
Sure we have to use pick 16, but at least brissy get **** all.

Yep. Freo might be happier to trade 16 and 20 if we pick up another player in the deal or a couple of picks maybe. Monday is going to be fascinating and nerve-racking. Hopefully on Tuesday I can get some work done. I have done stuff all for a week.

"Preferably something in addition to it" is what makes me think they'll settle for 16 if it was 30 minutes to go and that's all that was on the table. Prefer, but not compulsory.

Can you support that with an example where that has been the case? And I mean a player with significant value, not McPhee/Anthony "meh" types.

The last time something like that happened was Nick Stevens, and to an extent Jade Rawlings, both of which contradict your argument

i'm not overly familiar with the rawlings situation, but stevens had nominated another victorian team, which made it easier for carlton to snatch him. state lines might be too much of a complication.

A club won't waste a first rounder on a player who has categorically stated he only wants to play for a certain club IMO.

PSD is another story .

Melbourne had pick 1 in the PSD and they wanted him.

Ball went in the National draft in the hope that Melbourne wouldn't take him with pick 18. Mission accomplished.

Great moment though in that draft at Pick 18 though when the Melbourne recruiter said "Pick 18, Luke...... *pause*..... Tapscott".
