Has apparently requested a trade to Freo.

Now I subscribe to the theory that you embrace the draft, but this guy is the exception. Put him at FF with Hendo at CHF and you have our forward line for the next 10 years. Waite goes to CHB and our spine is set. Then we fill in the backline sweeper and hardness of the midfield going forward - 17 would be very close.

We should be throwing whatever we can at Brisbane to get this guy - pick 18 and 14 (assuming we get that as part of Jacobs) and Walker/Grigg. Freo will find it very hard to satisfy Brisbane in a trade.

What do people think?

Have you watched Clark the last two years?

He is so much better than Drummond and Brennan it isn't funny. We need KP players. Clark is that and then some.

He may want to go to Freo but he has another year left on his contract.

Plus what does Freo have to satisfy Brisbane in the trade? Not much - hence we should at least ask the question.

Its not a problem of asking the question. But it's the question of how long will it take untill Clark decides, again, he wants to go to Freo. I wouldn't want player in my team who aren't 100% committed to being there.

Clark is by far the best asset of what's on the way out of Brisbane this off-season, no doubt. If he's hell bent on playing for Freo, we're not in the running. If he just really wants out of Brissie, I'd pay Brennan and Sherman's ransom combined for him.

I think if he wants to go to Freo, if the rumours are true of course, then let him go. Would rather have Drummond or Brennan anyway.

Agree, he has nominated where wants to go, he didnt say to a melbourne club so wouldnt waste our time. Big yes to Drummond and brennan, so many players leaving Brisbane, Voss has set that club back 10 years, he brought in a load of ordinary footballers last year and is having to now cut his good players just to stay under the salary cap, and if Fev goes he should resign because he was the only person in the AFL who wanted him and knew what money he was on. That one deal has ripped the heart out of Brisbane.

If his reason for leaving is purely to go home, then we haven't got a hope.
If he just wants out of the sinking ship, throw everything at him.

Our people will no doubt contact his people, just to enquire.
We have 4 players up for trade, so hopefully we can come up with a nice package by the end of trade week to offer the Lions.

Mitch Clark would be absolutely perfect. Brings aggression, which we need.

TO hard so don't try, i hope you have nothing to do with Carlton, because anyone who thinks like this should be cleaning shiters and doing nothing else.

Or they could go to Thailand and let their managers get them to a rubbish club like Richmond where they are awarded free games.

No chance...

Move on.

Hmm, it would be hard...HOWEVER...if we could get him + natural progression, I'd guarantee top 4 next year.

We have ridiculous amounts of cash to try lure a potential superstar...now that this has come out, should definitely be our number 1 priority.

Our forward line is even more dangerous, and Waite back to play 3rd or 4th defender makes us a lot better side.

Would happily give up Grigg, pick 18 and our second rounder for him (I realise this is a heap, however, he could actually be the difference between playing in GFs in the next couple years or not)

Hampson + Grigg + 1st + 2nd picks for Clark and Sherman anyone??

I think I just got a bit turned on.

Do people actually rate him as KP?

I don't think he's done much at all when not playing in the ruck. Brilliant ruckman, especially in 2009, but hasn't done much at all as a KPF and has had plenty of opportunity there.

Definitely see what you're saying, but I think his size, skills and athleticsm, playing in a good team would have him around the 60 goal mark if he is playing FF for most of the game.

And obviously, gives that added flexibility of having Kreuzer play wherever we need, and putting Waite into the backline.

Is about a million times upgrade on where Hampson is at the moment.

He's a good ruckman, but that's it, will cost too much and we have enough good enough ruckman at our disposal

Welcome to the real world champ.

My friend if i thought like you i would be ashamed of my self. Your real world and mine are very different, in my world there is no such thing as to hard no such thing as it can not be done. Only a coward would say do not try because it is to hard and the thought of that makes me sick and it should make you sick too.

Yes, I'd go for Mitch Clark. Absolute no brainer. If he'd come to Carlton then you have to do it. However, would Brisbane trade with Carlton after last year? I don't think they'll come near us for a trade anytime soon.

However; here's my proposals.

Trade Jacobs to the Crows for pick 14.
Trade Walker for an end of first round draft pick.

Do rp84's trade (Grigg + #18 + second rounder for Mitch) and trade for another key position defender (Warnock from Melbourne perhaps) with our third round pick, see what comes of T-Bird and call it a day.

Out: Jacobs, Walker, Grigg, pick 18, 2nd round pick, 3rd round pick, (Thornton)
In: Clark, Warnock, pick 14, Walker 1st, (whatever we get for Thornton)

Yes, we give up some depth of ready made players in the trades (4 out, 2 in) but we add a second first round pick as well as a 4-pick trade up.

Word is that Brisbane actually want to trade with us Re: Brennan.
Purely cause they dont want to hand GC free kicks in such a tough market.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him in the team... Maybe involving Hampson.. But when a player nominates to go to WA, and we're based in VIC, it just makes it ridiculous to comprehend...

Of course, we can all be deluded like laminex, and think pigs can fly, but I just don't see it happening...

AFL.com say GC are willing to offer a top 10 pick for Brennan... We wouldn't be able to compete with that. Unless they really want to start a rivalry!
