Retreads should take the top-10 pick for Brennan, and make the Purple Game Throwers cough up bigtime for Clarke. They also need to ban Vossy from trading away anymore draft picks during trade week.

Using your 'outlook on life', Port, Lions, Sydney, even Freo were in the running to get Judd when he left :rolleyes:

The problem the Lions face is that they need draft picks not players as they have totally screwed the salary cap.

Part of their Board and football department at the moment is advocating totally reversing last year's approach by trading out good players for draft picks (hence entertaining Rich to WCE for pick 4 etc). The view late in the season was injuries screwed the year and if they could offload a few but hold the bulk then top 4 was possible next year. The mass exodus is swaying this thinking towards lets embrace the draft.

So Brisbane are likely looking for picks.

It is true they don't want to deal with GC but if push comes to shove GC will give them a top 10 pick and we could only beat that by offering picks 14 and 18 for Brennan (which would be over kill).

So offering Jacobs/Grigg/Walker etc won't work. Although I think Grigg, Walker and Thornton would fit the Brisbane structure, they don't have the cap space.

We need the draft picks or we don't get Clark.

And those questioning his KP potential, when player at FF Clark will be a star. Good pace on the lead and excellent user of the body. Good contested mark. Needs to work on kicking.

All I posted was something about a train wreck in slow motion and copped a week.......and that was before the Clark thing.

How can Voss keep his job?

Now I subscribe to the theory that you embrace the draft, but this guy is the exception. Put him at FF with Hendo at CHF and you have our forward line for the next 10 years. Waite goes to CHB and our spine is set. Then we fill in the backline sweeper and hardness of the midfield going forward - 17 would be very close.

We should be throwing whatever we can at Brisbane to get this guy - pick 18 and 14 (assuming we get that as part of Jacobs) and Walker/Grigg. Freo will find it very hard to satisfy Brisbane in a trade.

I think that Carlton is a few thousand miles away from Freo :rolleyes:

And of course a player always goes to the club they request hey. And you didn't obviously read my comments re how we could satisfy Brisbane better than Freo with a trade.

Why? Do you really think he's permanent KPF material? He wouldn't get much time in the ruck unless Warnock falls out of favor and that isn't going to happen anytime soon...

Besides, when do players ever not get to their State of choice?

You're acting as though he has been put on the trade table - he hasn't. The Lions would be about as willing to entertain offers for him as we would with say Murphy.

He is forcing their hand with Freo, so they will begrudgingly listen to what they may offer, but it'll need to be very good for them to sign of on it.

We would have to pay over the odds for him, and then in 2 years, Freo/Eagles will get him cheaply when he comes out of contract. What's the point?

Have to agree with this. Lions will place a high price on his head, probably look for a quality young midfielder like Morabito so I'd say Clark won't be going anywhere.

Freo may undertake to work hard to get him when he comes out of contract though. Would be a handy backup ruck for Sandi while they give Clarke some more time.

We'd only ask the question to be prudent but pretty sure the answer would be ..ck off.

Exactly.

I think he would be rated (far) higher than Daniel Rich at present.
 
Would be too good to be true...kruz and clark in the same team would make every other team shit themselves.

right now i cant see us getting anyone from brisbane...i doubt brennan will join as well.

Here's hoping but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the majority of trades on the the Monday and Tuesday.

This is the stupidest thread i have ever heard. The fact that some people are willing to give up first rounders, seconds rounder and player just for one hack amazes me.
He has played one game where he kick 5 goals and had done nothing since.
I was actually joking around about him when Brisbane played Essendon because he gave away 4 free kicks in the first quarter and out of the 5 odd disposals he got in that quarter, only 1 of them hit a target.

He is a hack and definately not a key position forward. i would much rather have Waite as FF and draft a CHB then waste all these picks and players on a dud with an anger problem.
 
He's a ruckman, a very good one at that, but we have lots of those. That why we're letting one go. Not sure about him being a KP player so I wouldn't be wasting a pick on him. Use an early pick to get a bloke that can play KP back.

His best footy is in the ruck. Those type don't always go well when pidgeon-holed into one position. If we wanted to do that we'd put Kreuzer at FF and play our ruckmen......and I don't like that idea anyway.


Better and smarter places we can use our picks. We need a CHB

Agree with your last comment. But stats say that Mitch Clark only average about 11 hitouts a game in 2010
 
No thanks. Has already shown his best position is in the ruck and we are okay for now. Pass.
