Really? He definitely plays taller than that. Just took my mancrush on him up another notch. :D Cameron's generally been played down back this year, probably in reflection of exactly this issue - too many talls. I forgot about Patton, definitely add him to the list. GWS would hopefully be playing Clark as their main ruck, with Giles as back-up, as I think that'd work out best for both if he doesn't resign with the Lions.

Well, I'm just going by his listed height on the GWS website, he might have grown since then!

Cameron just looked like a natural roaming chf when I saw him for the rebels last year. I haven't seen GWS play since the triple-headers in the NAB cup, so I can't comment on how he's been used, but I did notice he kicked 4 against the swans 2s this week, so GWS at least seem tpo be keeping their options open with him...

I think this guy should be worth lots at the trade table. Some of these suggested trades are underselling it just a tad.

Seeing as nobody seems that keen, perhaps Collingwood should package up a couple of guys ont the fringes of their side and snap him up.

well if he does end up at freo, it won't be for what he's worth, since we don't realy need him. freo aren't as stupid as they used to be. tbh the connections between him and freo are complete bullsh1t.

I'd utterly hate to see us bend over backwards for him, it'd be akin to the old freo days. We don't flat out have a spot for him, nor can we afford him. I'd much prefer we put all our resources into trying to get Jaeger O'Meara.

.. Unless there's something along the lines of a Mitch Clark for our 1st rounder & something else and then Jaeger for Z Clarke & our Palmer Compo pick etc. But that sounds a bit far-fetched.

The best Deal Brisbane can get for Clarke is Richmonds 1st round pick 10/12 but doesnt look like the tigers really want to part with the 1st round pick.

So Perhaps early 2nd rounder + Player but which player ?

Mcguane,Moore,Thursfield,Connors,Edwards,white,Nason,Morton

Our second rounder and some dud fringe player won't get the deal done.

I would be happy to see us send pick 10 to the lions for him, but at the same time happy to see us keep it and draft another gun mid.

Clarke is ready to be a number 1 ruck and could be an AA. Vickery is having a breakout season and will be ready to start dominating in the middle of the ground next year. A ruck duo of Vickery/Clarke is probably one of the most mobile in the comp and would certainly turn our current ruck situation right around. This is why I find it very attractive to offer pick 10.

Really? So if GWS offered any one of their top 10 picks for Mitch Clark is that not a better deal than any of your propositions?

Clark is soon to be 24 and former first round draft pick who has played to a high level. If you think a fringe player and a 2nd round pick is enough to acquire his services then you and I do not share the same opinion.

He had a great year when thrown into #1 ruck for most of the year a couple of years back, BUT I believe it's been said he doesn't want to play ruck... at least not predominantly in ruck - he wants to play forward.

Is this a case of chinese whispers, or can someone confirm this?

He's uncontracted, isn't he? Surely the GWS would be interested, in which case they will get their man, no?

Interesting theory that holds up in face of the facts:

An article earlier in the week said GWS was interested but Clark wasn't keen on moving to Sydney. I'd read that as Clark wants more money from GWS, given what's been offered to others. As a result he's now shopping himself around.

You'd think no one would match what's on offer, but it's entirely possible that he'll land somewhere other than GWS if the money's there. Richmond, St Kilda, Freo and GWS have all been linked in articles to date, in addition to Brisbane hoping to re-sign him.

And yes, he is uncontracted so if he does decide GWS is the way to go we lose our third player for a compo pick. Anyone else will have to trade.

Given our needs (i know there is plenty) would have no problem giving up pick 10 or watever our 1st is for Clark.Question is he interested in us though ?

One would have to think Victoria is a much more tanterlising move than Sydney for him.

If so, I would expect us to offer our first pick 10-12 and a player, probably a McGuane or the like. Maybe a swap of 2nd rounders aswell?

This is the best we could/should offer and wouldnt be too bad for Brisbane. The talk of 2nd rounders and fringe players is just insulting and unrealistic.

Nope not true leunberger came back from injury and forced him out of the ruck.

Actually it is true. Mitch Clark made a statement at the end of last year saying that he hoped to play more in his preferred forward role this year, which he obviously has.

Really ??? So Please tell me why GWS would offer any picks at all to get clarke !!

They can take him for free & dont need to offer brisbane anything,Brisbane will get a compo pick & have to settle for it.

That would still be far more acceptable than your offer.

I don't think you included enough average players in your proposition. I'm sure Brisbane would like 5 more Richmond depth players in exchange for a young, well performed key position player.

Unfortunately THE_GUN doesn't understand that.

You are forgetting they a pretty interested in Hanley who the lions would much rather keep than Clark.

Actually you are right in a way , i dont know what a band 3 pick is & would be good if you explained it.

Firstly if you look through my past post in the last 3 months i am more than in favour of trading our 1st rounder for mitch Clarke but posted that richmond wouldnt be willing to do that based on their recent comment about holding onto 1st round picks yesterday.
